Rolling To Belly in Crib...And Then Not Being Able To Roll Back?
Hey guys, I'm back with another new question. First off, though, thank you to whomever suggested putting on two diapers at night. It works like a charm; no leaks. :) DD is 5 months old and can roll both ways. She just started rolling onto belly in crib. However, she then cries and can't get back over and seems to get herself stuck in a corner or thinks she has no room to turn back. This has been waking her, not at night thankfully, but in the early morning and during naps. I just left her there crying a bit to see if she could work it out on her own, but after a few minutes, she can't so I flip her back. What should I do? For instance, she was napping. She just rolled to belly. Cried and couldn't get back. I let her go for about 5 minutes and went in and turned her over. She just fell asleep again. THis is starting to become a little pattern! She enjoys rolling to her belly in the crib, but soon gets frustrated. I don't mind if she falls back to sleep on her belly, but that doesn't seem to be happening.

I would get a sleep positioner so she can't roll to her belly..until she can roll back over.

Its a phase...DS did the same thing. After 4-5 days of running in there and flipping him back, he started to do it on his own...She will figure out that she can get back over. They like to give us a run for our money!

hmm...but she can roll onto her back when she's not into her crib. i also thought sleep positioners were no longer sold? i want her to learn how to deal with this and not just bandaid it, you know?

I am having the exact same problem and posted about it this morning. My DD is having this problem throughout the night though . The last two night have been about 5x of me running in there and helping her. She then gets so worked up that I have to give her a paci to calm down. I really hope she works this out VERY soon.

It took my oldest forever to learn how to roll back. And it would wake her at night all the time. My youngest, did it 1-2-3. But she napped on her belly all the time, so maybe her abs were toned.

DD did this too. It was loads of fun mid-way through her nap, but she eventually figured it out. Hang in there!

so funny, I could've wrote this post! DD just started to roll from her back to her belly in the crib. She hasn't figured out how to roll back yet either. It's cute (for now )
