That opens up a huge range of places. Maybe be a little more specific. What time of year do you want to go? What do you like to do on vacation? Are you on a budget?

Hawaii is tropical and romantic... not as exotic as some other places though, and not as close as the Caribbean either.

Virgin Gorda in the BVI...we love it there! There are a bunch of beautiful hotels: Little Dix Bay, Biras Creek, Leverick Bay, Bitter End Yacht Club. We have also stayed at a smaller resort, Mango Bay, that was nice and quiet. We rented a house with my in-laws another time, that was beautiful, but a little pricey.
Cooper Island and Peter Island are also quiet, romantic and beautiful.

Any Sandals or Excellence resorts.
We stayed at Sandals Royal Bahamian and Excellence Punta Cana.

Any of the Excellence Resorts. We went to Excellence Punta Cana for our HM and are going to the Playa Mujeras resort in September for our anniversary.

We went to Sandals Antigua (the Mediterranean Village) in 11/07 and it was gorgeous! The grounds, the beach & the staff were all amazing. Even though my dh had pneumonia & was too sick for us to really enjoy it, I'd def recommend it. We plan to return someday.
We went to the Excellence Playa Mujeres last November for our "Honeymoon - Part II" when we were both healthy and loved it there! The grounds are soooo beautiful - we had a Rooftop Terrace room & it was gorgeous...we spent all of our time up in our pool rather than down on the beach. The beach itself was nice...not the crystal clear blue that you might expect though at a tropical resort. GL choosing!
