Maybe I am in the Minority, but I choose Hilary. Why exactly don't people like her? Because she is a strong-minded woman? I agree with a previous poster about Guiliani, where was he before 9/11?
I totally agree! I've met Hillary, she is an amazing, awe inspiring woman. She is a trail blazing woman.
Rudy was amazing in hte months following 9/11, he got NY through, BUT remember, he left office 3 months after 9/11 and he had 7 years prior where he did good work, but work that was no different than any other mayor in any other city.
I'd really vote for either BUT if I had to choose one over the other Hillary...I don't understand why people dislike her so much. I think she is a very strong and powerful woman and SMART

I think Rudy did a lot to clean up the city. There is no doubt he was a huge part of increasing tourism, closing down the porn shops, etc.
However, he started to go meglomaniac & thought he could run the city as he wanted without answering to any legistaltive process...which reminds me too much of a current president I despise.
I agree.
I think he was a good major. I think he went too far with things and his tenure was up after those years and I was glad to have a change. I don't like his methods and as I said he went too far, and I don't think he's president material.
I really don't want Hillary as president either. I feel like she's just a default choice since she's one of the nation's leading democrats, and I think she's a good senator, but I also don't think she's what we need in our next president.
Well, here's the best part...it may really not end up either of them. It could end up completely different people, esp. because they are now both "north/eastern" politicians and there are a lot more elected officials out there trying to grab the seat.
I think we'll end up with different candidates when all is said and done.

neither, really
But if I have to pick, I choose Hillary.
Everyone remembers 9/11 as the whole of Rudy as mayor, but there were 7 years before that
I could have written this myself. I strongly dislike Giuliani!
True, but Hillary's past is not so stellar either.

Re: Rudy or Hillary?
Yeah, I don't anticipate a clinton/giuliani 08 presidential race.
2 NY politicians?
I know people dd talk about Giuliani moving on after his term as mayor was up in NY, but I don't think there would be all of this buzz about him running for president if not for 9/11..and if you think about it, one event is really not enough to make someone a good presidential candidate. I think people felt a LOT differently about giuliani before 9/11 vs. after...he's riding the wave of being "America's mayor"...and I think I would really just dislike him a a pres candidate because I'm sure he'd go way right on his capaing views to win conservative support and get votes from ourside the NE area.
ETA: I was a BIG Bloomberg supporter from day 1. I registered as a republican so I could vote for him in the primary and i voted for him twice in the general election, but he turned me off during the 04 pres race with the way he pandered to the party.

Re: Rudy or Hillary?
I think either one of them could be a great President. They both have their strengths and weaknesses. That goes for anyone.
I think you will see more (better choices) as time goes on before the primaries.
Senators have a lot of power and influence but everyone is in bed with each other literally and figuratively. The President has advisors and people that he is in bed with as well. Don't judge their personal lives because even JFK had mistresses and Jackie O who was our nations princess at the time stuck by her man. That takes a tremendous amt of courage.
I love Rudy for what he did for the city and how he handled 911 but he made some critical mistakes with the police and fire departments during that time that maybe could have saved thousands of lives. His legacy will be 911.
Bottom line: They are all politicians, they will spin it the way they want to and we are left to make the best choice we can possibly make given the info we have.

Sasha, I'm sorry. Personally, I really don't think that either one deserves to be in office. You said your piece, I've said mine - I'm done.

I don't think Hillary deserves to be in office either. If I had to choose, she's the lesser of 2 evils for me. I get that he's yours. No hard feelings!
