Rugged Maniac
Has anyone ever done a Rugged Maniac obstacle run? My DH does a lot races like the Spartan runs and he asked if I wanted to do the Rugged Maniac with him. I've never done one before but he said he would stick with me and he wouldn't be racing to finish. Just looking for some perspective from anyone who has done it before. I'm nevous to sign up!

i haven't but my SIL and her friends have. People are usually pretty nice and help each other out. If DH is sticking with you, go for it!
SIL runs about 5 miles daily and is yoga certified. She also used to so light weights and zumba sporadically. (just to give you a perspective on her abilities)
If Rugged Maniac is too much for you, I know Aviator in Brooklyn has LOTS of different races all summer long. I thing there's a crazy obstacle race, color run, some sort of foam/slide run. Look on their page and see if maybe one fo those would work.

Re: Rugged Maniac
I did it last year It was fun! Not as challenging as I expected The hardest obstacle is the big wall but there are men on top to pull you up. I banged my shins up on that part a bit I'm sure you can watch some videos on you tube

Re: Rugged Maniac
I did one a few years ago and am doing another in June. It was hard but I was able to get through it and I am not a crazy work out person. There was one wall you had to climb over that I found scary so I just walked around it. I definitely had to push myself but it was fun and worth it. We ran most of the time but it was so hot that when we needed to we would take a break and walk. You can go at your own pace. Good luck!
