Runners- where do you run?
I run at the gym during the week but on the weekends I try to run outside. I get nervous running on the road- I live in a pretty busy area. I've tried the track but it's so boring. I'm getting tired of my usual spots and looking for ideas to mix it up a bit!

Re: Runners- where do you run?
I'm bummed that daylight savings time is this weekend...this was my last week of running outside after work. My TM has been broken since last winter...I guess I should get it fixed.
I'm a roads person myself. I like the variables...and I hate that there aren't any downhills on treadmills...LOL.
As for running on the roads - I run on some busy roads on my long runs - some quiet, but curvy roads with not much shoulder. You should run with traffic coming towards you. If you are running on a blind curve, stick your arm out into the road. And don't have your ipod too loud.

Same here. I hate running indoors, but I think I will have to start doing so in the next week or so because I get nervous running in the dark. Sunset tomorrow is before 5, which means on a workday I would literally have to go immediately home at 3pm and start my run. So bummed.

Re: Runners- where do you run?
Christina - I think you are a teacher (?) I have been thinking about bring my clothes to work and running from school.
even sunrise is only going to be at 6:30 - it's just not enough time to get up, run, shower and get to work.
I also thought about running to work and home. I work 7 miles away - so I thought if I could plan it to do it one day a week (bring work clothes in the day before)

Same with me too I hate running indoors but looks like I am going to be on the treadmill this week b/c I do not like to run in the dark either! Yuck I hate the treadmill!

Re: Runners- where do you run?
When it's cold out, on the treadmill at the gym. When it's nice out, I love to go to the park (I have a few different ones near me), or the boardwalk at the beach.

Re: Runners- where do you run?
I run outside in a neighborhood nearby to my apt complex. I usually run on the sidewalk but sometimes I need to run in the street. DH prefers to run in the street, so he'll run beside me in the street while I'm on the sidewalk. It's dark when we run in the morning but by 1/3 of the way through it is getting light.
I ordered some underarmour cold gear online the other day and should get it soon. So that will help with the cold.

I have actually done this before. We are closing on our house on Wednesday so then I will only be 10 minutes away from work so I hope I can last outside a little bit longer. I don't mind running outside as long as it is like 25 F or so. Unfortunately, I live upstate so we do not get moderate weather like LI. Oh how I miss LI winters!
