S/O to sleeping w/windows open... how hot before AC?
Ironically I have no tolerance for heat and I HATE HATE HATE to sweat
So if I get sticky while in shorts and tshirt the AC is on. whatever that may be. Now if I'm doing nothing all day yes, the windows and fans are fine, but if Im cleaning etc I need it sub zero.

I need it to be frigid to sleep so it goes on right away. I don't think I could stand 5 mins in an 85 degree house let alone sleep in one  my house is like 68-70 year round

Since my husband is the hot one and he works nights the AC doesn't go on until he comes home (hasn't been hot enough yet). My neighbors upstairs had their unit on last night and I don't understand why since I was getting a nice breeze from the open windows.
I'm like your neighbor.... I'd love to sleep with windows open but Dh has really bad allergies and the pollen has been horrendous around me

Same here.
I get so annoyed when it's too hot. And forget about trying to sleep without the AC. I'd be tossing & turning & punching the walls all night.
Same for us too.
this is for me too. we have central air in our house and i get so hot since i live with relatives that my dh also installed a window ac for our room. i also sleep with the fan on. last night i was cold before i went to sleep. dh turned the window ac off and i woke up dying. our bedroom gets no cross ventilation and is the hottest room in the house on the second floor.

We haven't put our window units in yet-so just open windows. I would say it needs to be 85+ for awhile for me to crack, or if we plan on having company over I'll do it earlier so they're comfy, and then well just turn it on when people are over.
I keep waiting to get super hot because I'm 34+ weeks preggo but I've been fine so far

Same here! I can't stand to be hot especially when sleeping. I've had the AC on for a few weeks!

I don't particularly like to have it on but I can't stand being hot when I sleep. I have ours on now. Sometimes I try the fan and give up when I wake up sweating bc our apartment gets so hot.

I much prefer the fresh air and the breeze, so I would say it would have to be consistantly 85 and humid.
I love the few months a year when the curtains are flowing in the breeze and my electric and gas bills are low!!!!
I just told DH he should get the ac ready to turn on because I didnt know when we might need it but figured we should be ready. But if the weather stays like this, I will keep the windows open!

We do not have a set temperature; we just wait for it to be uncomfortable and turn it on. In our house that usually means excessive heat and humidity.

alerady on in the bedrooms at night - it has to be really hot (90's) for me to turn them on in the day, I prefer open windows and fans but like it cold when I sleep.

Same for us. We live near the water so we tend to get a nice breeze, especially at night. But once I feel it's a little too hot for my liking inside, the AC goes on
