Scared to death
The more I think "hey im friggin pregnant" the more it freaks the cr@p out of me. How are we gonna do this? keeps playing in my mind. Will I be a good mom? And then all of the things that can go wrong during pregnancy, jeez louise...
Anyone else feel like this at first or still?

Re: Scared to death
I think everyone goes through this, especially in the beginning of the pregnancy. I'm also pretty early on, 7 weeks, and I worry about all the things that you just listed. But then I try to focus on the positive aspects of it and it always seems to make me feel so much better.

i agree im right behind both of you, and i am a RN, so i feel that i know too much sometimes, and it makes me feel worse. But usually i just take a deep breath place it in Gods hands, and im just going to take it day by day.

Re: Scared to death
I'm almost 36 weeks and still feel this way sometimes. There is no turning back though and I'm sure we're both going to be great Mom's!!

Re: Scared to death
That's normal. I'm pregnant with my second & I think to myself everyday "OMG what have I gotten myself into?!" You are about to taje on a big, very important job, and how could anyone not be nervous about that?

Re: Scared to death
oh absolutely- I think about everything that could possibly go wrong. And then I forget that silly stuff and get excited!
I am a little scared on how our lives will change though...not just worrying about the child's health, happiness....but how it will change our relationship, etc...but I know it's all for good.

Same feeling here, but I am 35+ weeks with my second! I would be worried if I wasn't petrified! Its a huge responsibility that you will never understand until you are there and living it...once that baby comes though, you will be fine and realize that you were meant to do this "job". Good luck!

Re: Scared to death
Yes. Completely normal. Just how normal that feeling is: DH and I went through months of infertility treatments to get pregnant. When I finally did get pregnant, I looked at him and said "I can't do this...I'm not ready". He looked at me and said "Are you suggesting that we end this pregnancy?" and even though that's something I would NEVER do in a million years, my brain actually let me think it for a split second.
Now I'm 6 1/2 weeks from delivering and I'm excited as anything. You'll get through it! It comes in phases.
