Severe Hip Pain
I have really been lucky with very few symptoms and issues. At week 22, the one that really has been bothering me is hip pain. My little boy is pretty low and when we went for our check up last week the doctor said it was normal. Last night I felt as if I was a 90 year old woman. My left hip was hurting so bad I could barely walk and was in tears. When I went to sleep, I ended up sleeping on my back - that was the only comfortable position. This morning I am feeling a bit better after loosening up. My DH said maybe I should go to the chiropracter. He is a family friend and worked on my SIL when she was pregnant. I used to go every now and then to see him before getting pregnant. Has anyone gone through this? Any recommendations on what to do?

Re: Severe Hip Pain
Yep, it might be your sciatica. I have a constant hip, lower back, but and leg pain on my left side. They told me there was nothing I could do other than going to the chiropractor (which I personally hate cracking noises) or sleep on my right side (which still hurts).
Feel better!

Re: Severe Hip Pain
Yes yes yes! I've had this for a few weeks and finally got an extra firm pillow from target this weekend to sleep with between my knees. It's a little cumbersome and not 100% effective but it's helped a lot.
Feel good

Re: Severe Hip Pain
I feel your "hip pain"!!! I am now 24 weeks and starting 2 weeks ago I could not sleep on my side because I was having severe pain in my hips. I got one of those body pillows and slept on top of it. It has helped me alot.

Re: Severe Hip Pain
I had severe hip pain but it was later on in pregnancy. I tried all kinds of pillows but what worked best was a soft feather bed. I usually love a firm mattress but the hip pain was much better when I added some cushioning under me.

Re: Severe Hip Pain
Thanks everyone. I've tried the pillow in between my legs - no luck. I also have a pillow top bed. It actually doesn't help either. I purchased a memory foam pillow today from Bed Bath and Beyond. Its actually curved and the picture has the woman putting it between her legs. I'm hoping it helps. Everytime I move, my hip starts hurting. I think I am going to tell my DH to make an appt for me with the chiropracter. I hate the sound when he cracks me but I can't live with this pain.
