Sex during ivf stimming
Did anyone's RE tell them that unprotected sex during stimming period of IVF is not allowed?
OR, we are allowed all the way up until retrieval?

I'm pretty sure he said no sex at all during the IVF cycle  DH and I had no sex for 8 weeks!

I was told no sex AFTER the transfer.
However, given how I was feeling while stimming, sex was the last thing on my mind....

OH crap! DH and I got "busy" this morning and now I'm so worried if it's going to effect my retrieval for early next week!
Did your RE mention the reason why for no sex?

I had sex during mine... I think it is fine as long as it isnt too *ahem* rough towards the end because you dont want to jostle your ovaries.

Thanks for your thoughts! I'm just getting a little bit paranoid since I've been reading and getting mixed feedback.
I am starting to get the back to back morning monitoring since I'm getting close to a possible retrieval and I just don't want ANYTHING to diminish my chance!

i just started stimming today. i was just told no sex around retrieval since sometimes they cant retreive all eggs and it is possible that the eggs can release and you can conceive from  which complicates it or something.
otherwise im assuming i can all i want!!

I asked, and he said it was fine. I wouldn't the day or two before retrieval, besides that, im sure your fine.

Actually, I used to like having during the stim portion. Made it seem a little less medical than it already was. But, towards ER, too uncomfortable to even consider it. And you should abstain 2 days b/f ER anyway so that the swimmers will be the best for fertilization. And they tell you, usually, no until beta. Men hate that!!!

ok i asked dr. b about this today at my appt and his response was really interesting.
he said it certainly doesnt hurt anything, especially early in stim, and it could help cause your body will see the sperm and start producing T-regulator cells (i think he said T-reg, i dont remember exactly so this could be off a little) that prepare the body for an embryo that is partially that genetic makeup.
interesting stuff!!

Isn't it so interesting that different doctors have different opinions? I also asked my RE and she said that it's perfectly fine....

About two years ago there was this whole thing about before ET, for the same reason Dr. B said. Because its good for the uterus. I was always afraid of infection after ER.
