Shortness of breath?

I'm 33 weeks pregnant with twins and I swear I can't breath properly. I almost constantly feel like I'm not getting enough oxygen. Is this normal? Did anyone else experience this?

Shortness of breath?

28 weeks with a singleton, I've been feeling that for a while. I was on the phone w/ my best friend at like 18 weeks walking up my stairs from my 1st floor to my 2nd and got so winded, she was cracking up!

I had that with my twin pregnancy. It was normal, but felt awful. My doctor wasn't able to do anything about it. Best wishes!

Re: Shortness of breath?

I am 31 weeks with twins and carrying pretty well (if you ask me.... i'm a big person so I have extra roomChat Icon Chat Icon ) HOWEVER...the major issue I am having is breathing. I can't even sit at a computer without feeling like I have to lean back to really inhale... Even having a quick conversation these days can get me out of breath... So frustrating....

Shortness of breath?

Yes I did! Standing was so much more cmfortable for that reason... they're all up in your diaphragm! With this pregnancy I feel it, just not to the same degree.
Just talk to the Dr. to see when dangerous is too dangerous. I had to decide between swollen feet elevated vs. breathing because I was uncomfortable either way. Good luck! Chat Icon

Shortness of breath?

Me too I am at 19 weeks. I also have asthma so it's making it worse.

Thanks ladies! I'm really shocked at how much worse I feel over the past few weeks. The breathing thing, sheer exhaustion, ocular migraines. Hoping to make it to my schedules c-section at 38 weeks and right now it feels impossible to keep cooking these babies for 4.5 more weeks.

You can do it! I was ready to jump off a bridge by 30 weeks but I made it to 38. Good luck!

Yes, totally normal. For one, your lungs no longer have room to fully expand. Also, your body is working harder doing other things, so breathing sometimes gets harder.

I remember feeling that way with DD1. I remember calling DH and asking him to look it up in the book to see if it was normal and it is.
