shower curtain or shower door
for bathtub/shower for a small bathroom
I thought the a shower door may make the room look bigger
but a curtain would be more decorative
any thoughts - pros or cons TIA

Re: shower curtain or shower door
If it's a sliding door, you have to clean the track along the edge of the tub, and that edge is pretty sharp. If you step on it, it hurts, and if you lean over it (washing kids, pets, cleaning, etc), it also digs in.
I vote for curtains....

Same here! Plus - easier to clean - just get new liners and such.

Re: shower curtain or shower door
For a tub I would go with curtains too. We had the doors on the tub we're replacing and I hated trying to clean around them and reach into the tub. For a full shower I prefer the light a glass door gives.

Re: shower curtain or shower door
I dont clean the bathroom (that's DH's chore) but he HATES cleaning the shower doors.
He says too much mildew collects in tracks. Our apartment had doors and so does our new home. He claims those will be one of the first things to go.
As far as the look, I put a curtain over the doors anyways so you could never tell.

Re: shower curtain or shower door
Curtains....I have had both and the door never stayed clean, was hard to clean within the door frame of that water and grime. The shower curtain and liner can go in the washer and looks new!

Re: shower curtain or shower door
my uncle owns a glass shop & gave us tub doors. The track is flat & wipes clean easily & we don't have little kids to bathe anymore so it works great. When I wash the our dog I use the big tub in our master bathroom. DSD always managed to get 7 gallons of water on the floor when we had the curtain. The only window in that bathroom is in the shower & I like having more natural daylight.

Re: shower curtain or shower door
curtain, I hate a shower door on a tub.
I don't like cleaning the track and I don't like leaning in the tub to clean it, over the track.

if it's a bathtub, shower curtain. if its a shower only, shower door. shower doors are a PIA to clean by the way.

All the reasons why I hate shower doors! Although I do agree with some of the pp; if it was just a shower, a door would probably be the better option.

Re: shower curtain or shower door
I think if it's a more modern looking shower a frameless shower door would look better. I think it depends on what kind of tile you have in there.

Re: shower curtain or shower door
I prefer the look of the door, but we have a curtain. We have a jacuzzi tub with high sides, and I don't think the door would look right. Curtains are easy to clean - spray some bleach and you're good.
