What's the funniest thing you've seen at the gym?


Once I saw a teenage girl (dressed in little denim booty shorts and flip flops) trying to figure out how to use a weight machine (I think it was the hip abductor) for about 20 minutes.

She finally figured it out. And did it incorrectly.

I don't belong to a gym... butI saw a woman once run a 5K wearing baggy jeans, and regular flat shoes. My brother was arguing me that she was running but cheering someone on... but I saw her cross the finish line.

I have a gym in my building where I live. Theres a guy who comes in there wearing jeans and shoes with a t-shirt, gets on the treadmill and speeds walks holding onto the rails .. so weird.

I find it hilarious any time I see girls/women come in to "work out" w/juicy sweat suits and full make up & hair done. Its obvious that they are there just trying to get noticed but it cracks me up.....

I saw one girl wear uggs to the gym!!! Seriously?!?!? It's hot enough when your working out!

That and the usual girls who come in wearing a full face of makeup, fully styled hair, etc. Seriously Its a gym not a meat market. That and I hate push up bras. Why?!? sports bras are really the only way to go when your working out hard core.

I don't go to a gym but once at a ZUMBA class i saw a woman wearing what looked like an easter sunday skirt suit, with platform high heels

People prob got a good laugh out of me yesterday...

I went to change the weight on the bar in the middle of my body pump class...and i must not have secured the clip holder thing in place

I went to lift bar and BAM the weights slide off the left side and crash..

I am SO LUCKY no ones foot was right there. And that i avoided my own!

muscle man doing squat lifts and ripped his pants. He was wearing super tight sweatpants.

I don't go to the gym either but go to hot yoga. These are my pet peeves/silly things I observe:

Grown women who bring their cell phones in the yoga room and sit there texting.

Women with face full of make-up, like she's going to the club.

The big macho guys who come in sweat pants for the first class, saying this is gonna be the easiest thing, then get overwhelmed from the heat and leave.

Teenage girls who sit in the back and talk and laugh the whole class.

Forgive me for saying this, but there's also a person who comes who resembles the Craigslist killer.

Also the smokers who hang outside of Ciao Baby and press their face to the glass to try to see what's going on. (Often causes me to lose balance because I tend to stand next to the window).

My all time fav was this chick who used to come into my gym, in SKIN tight jeans and like, a turtle neck sweater and boots, and go on the elliptical for no joke, 2 minutes, then run on the treadmill for 2 minutes, then go on the stairmaster for a minute and then leave. And, of course she had her hair all done up and blown out. I never ever understood it

the women are pretty good at my gym - there to work out...so no stories on that end...BUT...the meatballs/meatheads that come in - now that's just redik!

They come in jeans...they come in construction boots (so many do this that I actually asked the owner (he's a friend) if the club had a dress policy requiring the boots!)...it's ridiculous!

A meathead/muscle man lifting wearing gardening gloves.

I have seen a ton of people fall and walk into machines which is only funny if they don't get hurt.

The heavier dude in the gym, lifting weights for like 5 reps then to immediately flex like hes got immediate results, then walks around the weight station for 15min trying to look all macho.

The other thing isnt so much watching its hearing lol. I know when your lifting a huge amount of weights you have to grunt...but OMG I find it to be so amusing to hear some of the guys

i saw the funniest thing at the gym today actually!
a man, maybe in his early 50's, was wearing a black mesh tank top that you could definitely see through and biker shorts. you could see EVERYTHING.

and the best part, he gets on the treadmill right next to me. i wanted to die laughing. why would anybody consider this to be an appropriate gym outfit???

A guy dressed in a green Unitard and Green Clogs.....I swear this is a true story!

Same gym a girl would come into the free weight room wearing a thong and fish net shorts!

I am such a people watcher wherever I go I am so guilty of this at the gym. DH jokes I should spend more time working out and less time checking people out

There are a lot of fashion no-no's that I've seen heck, I think I've even been guilty of that. The funniest thing I saw was a woman take off her t-shirt on the treadmill and was just in her regular lace bra! She must have forgotten she didn't have a sportsbra on or something. It only took her a second to realize and she left right away.

I was taking a hot yoga class with a friend to "try it out". The woman in front of us cut the loudest fart. I almost lost it!!

the weirdest things i've seen aren't as funny but:
i watched a man do his ENTIRE run on the treadmill backwards and
a woman in regular clothes use the elliptical while wearing her purse on her shoulder
