Sleep question for 10 week old

My DS is sleeping through the night, which I am grateful for. He gets his last bottle around 10 p.m. goes to sleep around 11 p.m. and gets up at 8:30 a.m.
My problem is getting him to sleep. He is so tired but fights it so much. If I put him in his crib he cries and screams, I try to console him, give him his binky etc. but it is still a struggle. He loves to fall asleep on my chest but when I put him down he wakes.
Any suggestions to help this. I just hate to see him so upset at night. This is pretty common during nap time also. Am I missing the window of opportunity, is he overtired?
TIA

Re: Sleep question for 10 week old

Thats what the books would say. My DD is 9 weeks..and I was putting her to bed at 9:30-10 until a few weeks ago. She was difficult to put to sleep and got really cranky at night. I have managed to get her bedtime to 7:30 and it works out much better. Granted I do have one wakeup feeding now at 3AM, but she goes back down. Sleeps the same amount of hours, just is overally more pleasant and easy to put to sleep. Plus its nice to have a few hours of me and DH at night together.

I am so jealous!!! How much are you two feeding your DC?
I wonder why my DD wakes so much..i know she is trying to rip out of the swaddle, i still swaddle her so she gets some sleep...
I have been feeding about 5 ounces a bottle, at night she demands more it seems..
She is about 12 pounds....

My DD goes to bed 730-8..she tends to wake up all different times..she is a nightmare at bedtime! She will fuss, go crazy etc...i figured out to swaddle her after her bath and feed her, boom, she is out within 5 minutes..

Re: Sleep question for 10 week old

DS can't stand to be swaddled, I stopped that a long time ago. He loves to sleep it is just getting him to sleep that is the problem. I make a 6 oz bottle for him and he takes between 5 and 6 oz a feeding. I have tried to move his bed time up but all that does is wake him but earlier, the other day it was 5 am because he went to bed at 8:30 p.m. and he didn't go back to sleep until 7:30 a.m. I'm just don't know how to handle it because he fights it so much!!!

Man, that is tough. My DD will cry for about 2hours..i hear you on putting them down early-she was up at 5am and i am wiped...
my dd hates that swaddle but it has been a nightmare trying to sleep her without it..she screams..after awhile, i am like, what the heck do i do!

It is not fun..

From what I read, if a baby is not sleepy, theres not much you can do, you have to ride it out until they get tired and fall asleep. I'm not sure what advice to give but to keep doing what you're doing, eventually your baby will get intoyour routine.
