sleeping issue... getting 7 week old in her crib
When DD was born we were in the process of moving It was miserable for the first month because instead of resting we were packing and cleaning. Anyways we have a cat and bought netting for the top of her bassinet to keep the cat out. Well the netting didn't fit and we were afraid of putting her in the bassinet with no netting for fear that the cat would crawl in, which she did wind up doing a few times while the bassinet was uncovered. OH and BTW we had no doors in our old apartment to separate the cat from the bassinet. We made a horrible decision to let her sleep in her car seat until we moved (because the cat couldn't crawl into that with her) and set up her crib which has a netting that fits once we had moved into our bigger apartment... there was no room to set it up in the apartment we were in. The move took longer then expected and DD was in her car seat sleeping for almost 2-3 weeks. Now that we have moved and everything is set up properly DD refuses to sleep in her crib. Even when I put her in there already sound asleep she will sleep for 15 minutes or so and then wake up crying. A few times we have just rubbed her back, played music, gave her a pacifier she just can't get back to sleep. She is now almost 7 weeks and I so desperately want to get her out of the car seat and into the crib. And yes I know that I shouldn't have started putting her in there in the first place and that it's all my fault mine and DH's fault I just need help now on how to fix what I broke. PLEASE HELP Any advice would help.

Re: sleeping issue... getting 7 week old in her crib
I would start out putting her in the car seat in the crib so she can get used to the environment. Also, I would try putting her in for naps or once she is asleep during the day and then slowly move toward putting her in at night. HTH! Good luck!!!

Re: sleeping issue... getting 7 week old in her crib
we had to stop swaddling a while ago because she loves to move her hands and feet and gets very irratated when she can't. She kept kicking herself out of the swaddle and if it was a really tight swaddle she wouldn't be able to kick and would cry hysterically so we gave up on that idea.

Re: sleeping issue... getting 7 week old in her crib
My DD would only sleep well in either her swing or the bouncer. So for weeks that's how she slept. I got the Miracle Blanket and started swaddling her and that helped to transition her from the bouncer/swing to her crib.
