Sleeping more due to heat?
Gavin fell asleep at 6:30 last night and would have slept all night had I not woken him to change him. He almost didn't want his bottle, which is unheard of!
Do the babes get sleepier from the heat, even if they've been inside most of the day?
Is sleepier even a word?

Re: Sleeping more due to heat?
DS isn't sleeping more, but he's eating less, which isn't good in terms of hydration. I want to ask his doctor about pedialyte to help with that if he's not eating much.
Anyway, I would think the heat could do it. I certainly would love to sleep more myself! It's probably the heat making him sleepy.

Re: Sleeping more due to heat?
DS is quite cranky and isn't interested in food, breast or bottle. He will sleep against me, but not in the crib. I thought it was whatever virus he caught, but maybe it is the heat. (Although, you'd think the crib would be cooler to lay against than me. )

I didn't notice that. We'll call it a mommy word.

Jack goes to bed at 6:30 for the night.
6:30 has pretty much been his bedtime since he was 6 months old.

Re: Sleeping more due to heat?
I think so.
DD took a 3 1/2 hour nap yesterday... she hasn't done that since she was 5 or 6 months old.
She was conking out early last night and I had to wake her this morning.

Re: Sleeping more due to heat?
My DS has been. He napped yesterday for over 4 hours, sleeping through a feeding, which he NEVER does.

Re: Sleeping more due to heat?
I think so. DS has been really tired these last few days. We have been outside most days though.

Re: Sleeping more due to heat?
I have definetly used the word sleepier.
DD has been sleeping a lot longer at night the past couple of days and I think it has to do with the heat. She is not eating as much during the day either.

Re: Sleeping more due to heat?
Yes, he's sleeping so well actually. His naps are long. But I feel sleepy too so I think heat = sleepy heads

Re: Sleeping more due to heat?
yes DD has been narcoleptic!! she took two long naps yesterday! i had to wake her to feed her and then she would be up for a little bit and then fall back asleep. I could hear her crying on the monitor just now so I got up to feed her and she started out great but only ate a few minutes total and then was too sleepy to eat more. I hope that she's okay! She did eat pretty well yesterday though.

Re: Sleeping more due to heat?
The heat definitely tires them out (tires me out too), but it's particularly important that he gets fluids in him. Even if you have to dreamfeed him, I would make sure he gets a bottle.
