Slightly elevated FSH

I just found out that my FSH is a little higher than it should be. My RE didn't seem too concerned since I've responded to the meds really well on low doses and I'm relatively young. I wasn't concerned until I came home and looked it up online. I shouldn't have done that! I want to be informed, but sometimes reading too much is a bad thing

Is it normal for this to fluctuate each cycle? I've always had normal day 3 bloodwork so this is unusual for me.

Also, does this effect egg quality?

An elevated FSH can affect how you respond to stim meds. FSH can fluctuate from month to month so I wouldn't worry too much.

Re: Slightly elevated FSH

Do you mind if I ask how elevated it was? I notice mine fluctuates up and down. I am older though. I've been going to acupuncture and doing wheat grass powder and it seems to have kept it down recently. My highest ones have been 14 and 15. Last b/w it was 6.9.

When in your cycle was the blood drawn? That can make a difference also.

This cycle my FSH was elevated - it was 14. I responded extremely well and extremely quickly to the meds...only stimmed for 7 days and had 13 follies. They retrieved 7 and 4 fertilized. The 2 they transferred were Grade 1 and I have 2 Grade 2's frozen.

I was told by my dr. that the FSH might "complicate" the cycle. So far, it has not...now if I can just make it to my beta on Friday!!!

Thanks for the info. It was drawn on day 3 for a baseline and was a 12 (10 is normal). I guess I shouldn't be too concerned, since I already know that I do well to the meds. I've also been going to acupuncture for a while now, so I'll mention it to her this week.
