SLR Moms...18-200 lens...what's a good price?
I am desperate for one of these.
I found it for $549 new from Skypoint online. Can I do better than that?

I think that's a pretty decent price for it 
But I'm not a bargain shopper...so you might have to wait for the experts.
I got mine for around that down in St. Thomas and I know at the time they were going for closer to 700$

Seems like a good price to me. BestBuy has it for $785 right now.
It's a VR one, right?
ETA: What website is that? I'm in the market for this lens too (amongst others  )

Here is the website. I think this is "the lens" everyone is talking about so you don't have to switch between two lenses.

I think its a great price. I didn't read the whole link page, but just make sure it is not refurbished or used.
I got mine last Christmas and we paid $618 for it. Mine came with the lens hood, which this one does not.

Make sure it's not an import either. You would have issues with the warranty.

I bought a sigma lens that is compatible with my Nikon D40x about 2 years ago for about $450 on amazon. It works great and I have had no issues with it.

We've had bad experiences with Sigma otherwise I would probably go for that one.
