So question for those who shower at night, instead of in the morning
I start my hospital placement on Monday and my starting time is very early in the morning. Instead of waking up at 5am to take a shower, I was thinking it would probably be easier to just shower at night. I have naturally curly hair though, and in the morning I usually wake up to curls and frizz. Is there anything I can do to make sure that if I adopt this change I am not waking up looking a mess? Or do you need naturally straight hair to do this? Do silk pillow cases work? I heard that once, not sure if it's true
Just curious, would not want to frighten anyone.
ETA: I would love to do JHS, but can not afford it. The last time I did chemical straightening a clump of my hair in the back of my head fell out.

Many of my girlfriends take showers at night and their hair looks great. Me, on the other hand, I have naturally straight hair and when I wake up after washing it the night before...it's a total mess.

I am the same as Stefanie, I have straight / wavyish hair and if I wash it the night before it is a poofy mess the next morning.
Maybe you can use a flat iron in the morning?

Re: So question for those who shower at night, instead of in the morning
I have curly hair and usually if I don't wash my hair in the morning I just spray it with some type of curl refresher (there's a good one by Curlfriend) or Dream Curls by Frizz Ease in the morning. It makes the curls nicer, less frizzy. But I hate wearing my hair down, so I usually end up just throwing it in a ponytail or wear a head band.

Hmmm...I guess it depends on the hair type. I don't know why, but I have never had much luck w/ flat irons, probably because I never had a good quality one. Maybe I will just alternate waking up early to shower w/ waking up at a semi-reasonable hour and going w/ a ponytail or head band. Thanks

When I shower at night I usually sleep with a frnech braid and wake up to smooth waves.

If after the shower i put my hair up into a bun immediately, it's not so poofey. If I put it into a ponytail or into nothing at all, its a mess.

I usually shower at night...and I usually put my hair in a ponytail at night and when I wake up my hair is fine..I just either brush it out or I will straighten it if I have time...either way it looks fine

Re: So question for those who shower at night, instead of in the morning
I'll shower at night...no hair washing. Just a quick rinse to get the day off. Then I'll shower and wash my hair in the a.m. But that doesn't help you. So in the winter, I'll shower at night, blow out my hair and wake up to straight hair in the am. it's hard when you have curly hair.
