do the questions ever end? no. people feel the need to comment on your life forever, whether you are married or not.
married kids house
whatever, people have something to say about everything you do.
yeah...first it's marriage, now kids...then house, then grandkids, then retirement community, then have you picked your plots yet....
then its - hey granny, all your friends are breaking their hips - what are you waiting for...

Re: So, seriously, does the questioning EVER end?
I totally understand!! We got the questions starting only a few months after we got married. It's annoying! What if I had been trying for years and been having problems? Or what if I had just suffered a miscarriage? I think it's so rude to ask unless you're really close with the person and know they'd tell you anyway.

Re: So, seriously, does the questioning EVER end?
It's not so much the questioning, it's the comments and the looks I get after saying "no, we are not"
I got "don't you want a little boy or girl" and "you guys have been together forever" and, my personal favorite "you're not getting any younger"
it's not the fact I guess so much that they ask, but it's the JUDGMENTS and ASSUMPTIONS they make once I answer, that pizzes me off to no end.

Re: So, seriously, does the questioning EVER end?
It stinks, but here are a couple of one-liners that can be used if you run out of witty retorts:
(Can also be used for ladies who are asked why they aren't married yet)
"I already have enough laundry to do."
"I wouldn't want my parents to drop dead from sheer happiness."
"I don't want to have to support another person on my paycheck."
"Because having a husband and a child would be redundant."
And perhaps the best response to those who ask you why you aren't planning (or starting) to have kids:
"Why aren't you thin?"

I wish I could claim them as my own, but sadly, I cannot.

Re: So, seriously, does the questioning EVER end?
I HATE it! Now, I found the question "soooo when are you going to have kids" so invasive and so much more personal than "soooo when are you getting married" How do these people know
A. That you really want kids B. That you are physically able to
It is NONE of their damn business! I don't know why people find the need to ask. If you have nothing else to say to me...just don't bother talking to me!
