soft stool
My Toy Poodle has had soft stool for a couple of weeks now. It is not diarrhea and its formed, just soft. I had a fecal test done and it came out negative. I was just wondering, is there anything I can give my dog as part of his daily diet to help maintain his digestive system in working property?

We feed our dog high quality dog food without corn, wheat or meat meals...It has made a big difference. You can try feeding boiled chicken and rice for a couple of days to bind things up another suggestion our vet made was to use a senior dog food b/c they have more fiber.

Odie had issues last year with this and ended up with collitis so the vet recommended a high fiber food from Science Diet, and oh lord! we haven't had an issue since!

Do you remember what food from Science Diet your vet had recommended?

Canned Pumpkin (not the pie mix one with spice, just plain canned pumpkin).
Some dogs cannot tolerate grain at all. My Great Dane has to eat food with no grain at all.

Our dog had the same issue. We also gave him rice and boiled chicken. We also gave him a pro biotic which can be found at any pet store. We got ours at PetCo.
