Some party planning questions
I'm starting to plan DD 1st birthday ( ) and I'm clueless. Her birthday party will be 12/1 which is prime holiday season!!! SO my question is how early should I send out the invitations? Also what should the RSVP date be? My DH said 2 weeks prior, but that seems early to me.
Oh last question, I'm probably going to do a personalized favor - if I need to give them a few weeks how do I know who's coming that early (assuming nobody really RSVP's until the last minute.)
Thanks

Re: Some party planning questions
I usually send out invites 1 month ahead and I usually set the RSVP about a week to 10 days before.

Re: Some party planning questions
I'm having it at a local restaurant with a semi private room (So the little one's can run around and not bother other diners!!)
Anyone else???

Re: Some party planning questions
I would send them out 5-6 weeks ahead. RSVP date...hmmmm...when does the person doing the favors need to know? Are you inviting alot of people? Maybe you can find out earlier if they're coming without being a PIA.
ETA: I think you're ok with 12/1. Most holiday parties I've gone to are later than that. I bet you'll have a good turnout.

Re: Some party planning questions
DD bday is 10/28 I am sending out invites this weekend and having a RSVP date of 10/15.
I already ordered the favors- i'm doing 1 for all the children invited and can always give the favor to them @ another time if they don't come.

Re: Some party planning questions
Wow...time flies. And great time for a bday- my birthday is 12/02-
Anyway, I would do 4 weeks ahead for the invites.
As far as the favors- my customers usually give me ALL the childrens' names that are invited. That way, even if they don't come to the party but the parents still send a gift, you have a favor for the child.
But usually for me, I do not need to know the children's names THAT early (if you aren't sure). Typically 2 weeks time is enough of a notice, unless you needed a TON of favors to be made.
HTH and happy planning!
