Something I overheard at Criminal/District court on Thursday....

I have taken 3 knives off of my students through the years and I have had 2 former students bring guns to school (9th grade building) one was expelled and the other was expelled temoprarily and because both mommy and daddy were cops things disappeared and he was back a year later, in fact working with the after care kids too and then 5 years later he was jumped at a bar and daddy was in the paper yelling that there was a cover up because the kid was the nephew of some high Nassau County official and wasn't charged and things were being swept under the rug.
We had a straight a student post on the internet a hit list and why, the parent both lawyers came in and argued freedom of speech
Nothing shocks me anymore.

That brings "Not my kid" to a whole new level doesnt it?
I can understand standing by your kid and all and being their for them...BUT...what is that teaching them?
