Lots of hugs to you. I live far from my mother and I call her everyday....we have the same cell provider and it is free to call....I cannot live without calling everyday. I know that sounds crazy, but really I cope by hearing her voice.

I was in your same spot a year and a half ago. My husband and I up and left everyone in Ny to move to GA. My mom was the most hurt because we are so close and she was really close to my daughter. She saw her 4x a week. It does get easier. Now I really do not remember my old life in NY. I still miss my family and when birthdays and stuff like that come up it bothers me that I am not there to celebrate. However, I have a WONDERFUL life down here and I would not change a thing. My day to day quality of life is so much better in GA than it was in NY. 
It gets better. Give it some time. Settle in, make some friends. Try MOMS Club. They have a webpage and you should be able to find a local chapter. It was the best thing I did. I met so many great people and my kids have great friends. if you have any questions about it just FM me.

hang in there! It will get easier. When Kailey was born and my mom left, I surprisingly cried. Even though we had been down here for months, all of a sudden I felt alone.
I have my ups and downs, but being here is the right thing for us!!

Moving to a new place is really hard but it does get easier. It will take time but hang in there.

Oh Dana, I'm so sorry. It's difficult to change any routine and move away from family. I know how it is. We just visited my parents fro the first time in 6 months. When we were leaving I was overwhelmed with grief and guilt. I feel guilty that I moved away.
You are doing what's best for you and your family. Your mom knows that. She wants what is best for you.
Moving is a huge transition and so is having a baby. You are still hormonal and moving doesn't help that. (Remember, we moved into our new place the night before DS came, so I understand.)
Think about ways you can interact with your mother. Any thought about a webcam? There are many ways to keep in touch, due to technology.
Please, FM me if you ever want to vent.

I feel your pain - although I'm only about 2 hours from my parents - I miss them so much. Join a mom's group if you can - you will make new friends - and that will make being away from everyone a little easier.
