Re: Spin off to Diana's post - Fruit Snacks

I hear everything everyone is saying. I know they aren't the best, but all I'm getting is this image right now:

I understand because I was that mom too. The one that was like....everything in moderation, it's not a big deal - I've had fruit snacks, they're fine. Just like fruit juice. I was wrong.
I'm just trying to spare someone else the anguish of having to deal with rotted teeth, space maintainers & potential baby root canals. We had a fulll panarex of xrays done yesterday & the follow-up appointment is next week. We've only broached the subject of pulling teeth with our 9 year old but he's losing minimum 2 teeth. Completely rotted. Thankfully the adult teeth are ok.

Re: Spin off to Diana's post - Fruit Snacks
I will only give them once in a blue moon to my kids. I have seen so many cavities in practice caused by them. They are one of the worst snacks ever for teeth. I have a very skewed view though...

Landon just had them for the first time on Sunday andhe loves them. I always try to avoid the sugary food and things that may be a choking hazard... but he does love them.

Re: Spin off to Diana's post - Fruit Snacks
My kids always had the baby ones, the ones that kind of melted in your mouth! As they got older, and started with the dentist, and with my fear of them getting my bad teeth, I don't let them have fruit snacks, the real sticky kind.

I tried giving DS fruit snacks, he is not a fan. M&Ms however... Good to know!
