I walked because I didn't feel like waiting in line for the wheelchair person to wheel me out at St. Charles. I just wanted to get out of there!

I was wheeled out... I didn't know you weren't allowed to walk out, so there I was, recovering from my c section, carrying Cailen in his car seat out of my room and saying goodbye to the nurses (DH went to get the car) their jaws dropped - they were like - uh - NO
I was appalled when this "ten year old"  came with the wheel chair (she must have been a teenage candy striper) I'm like - she is wheeling me and my baby?????
I also felt awful being wheeled like an invalid, but I understand its just their policy!
I was at Huntington Hospital

Wheeled out
I was in hospital for 5 days, one month before dd came for renal colic, and they wheeled me out then too.

Walked out...I could walk without any pain so why not? I just took it slow and easy.

Walked out both time - South Nassau. I can't imagine being wheeled out - I wold have been hysterically laughing from embarrassment the entire time. I had no clue they still did that.

When you were leaving the hospital did you walk out on your own or were you wheeled out and what hospital.
I walked out and to be honest I was a little surprised.

Same here, same hospital, but I wasnt really surprised. And I had a c-section as well.

I was wheeled out both times. Hospital policy. I actually offered to walk down both times but was denied.
