Re: Spinoff: Paid Maternity Leave?

6 weeks at 60% for vaginal birth and 8 weeks at 60% for a c-section.

I also have about 10 or 12 weeks of sick/vacation time accrued so I can use that. I actually just chatted a bit with my admin about leave and she said straight out "tell me what you want and I'll make it work." So, I'll most likely take some unpaid time off as well, depending on finances.

Re: Spinoff: Paid Maternity Leave?

6 weeks short term disability, paid at 60% of my salary. No taxes are removed but is still ends up less than my normal check because of a cap they have on the distribution. Apparently, I make too much money. Chat Icon

I received 8 weeks paid, but I had to use the sick days I had accumulated. I worked for the NYCDOE. Now I am on an unpaid leave of absence.

Re: Spinoff: Paid Maternity Leave?

Honestly, I have no idea. I mean I know I get disablilty and then my benefit time will make up the difference. So I guess I get 6-8 weeks of paid time off?? It will be interesting to see when I stop getting paidChat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Spinoff: Paid Maternity Leave?

When I had Bella I received:
well, I could have had 2 weeks before the birth paid but I went early
6 weeks Vaginal Birth, 8 Weeks C-section
2 weeks parental leave (what men get, but women get in addition to the above)
any vacation I had to use up to 12 weeks.

I used 9 1/2, went back for 2 weeks and took 2 1/12 weeks vacay around Xmas...which probably wasn't technically legal, but whatevs.

This new company I am at has like 8 employees, so I have no idea what they would do and I don't think they have a clue either.

I live in the UK and we have a great maternity deal, My company gives six week at 90% pay and we get a a further 36 weeks at a statuatory amount which is about $250 a week, legally we are entitled to a year off, also we get something called Child Benefits and thats about $35 a week per child and you get that until your children are 16.

Re: Spinoff: Paid Maternity Leave?

I got 7 weeks paid in full (they say 8 but its really 7 as the first week you have to use sick/vacation time)

For the other 5 I used alot of sick/vacation time and only didnt get paid for about 1 week out of the 12

Re: Spinoff: Paid Maternity Leave?

12 weeks @ 60%. Any extra time off I take (which would be up to an additional 8 weeks I believe, is unpaid.

This whole maternity leave thing still confuses me.
