Spinoff to Christmas Bonus........
Not to be nosey or anything, but what amount have you been given in Christmas bonus' ???? I am hoping that my boss gives me something ( this is the 1st Christmas I'm working for him ) but generally speaking what is a " fair " amount???
I've been here now for almost a year , and have really done alot for the company... ( I am a full charge bookeeper and office manager )

My first christmas working for my old boss i was there a month i got 100.00. My second christmas he gave me 700.00

Two weeks' salary. We always got a memo at the beginning of December telling us what it would be, and how it would be pro-rated if you hadn't worked there the whole year.

and people wonder why i dont work there anymore ..noones appreciated for anything

I received 10% of my salary last yr
The most I have ever received was 27% of my salary ( I wish it was like this yr)

We get nothing!
Yet my boss has the need to tell us every day about his cars, homes, pets, traveling, restaurants and every other thing he spends his money on that we bust our A@@ doing slave labor for!
Sorry, just had to vent.

We have a bonus plan based on performance. We had to meet certain region-wide goals. We had a smaller goal for a smaller bonus, and a larger goal for a larger bonus which grows faster..we just met the larger goal. WOO! I think it's about 7% of salary. I didn't work the whole year so mine is pro-rated, after taxes it'll still be more than a paycheck!

It depends on your industry.
When I was in direct marketing I usually got 2-4 weeks salary, depending on how the company did that year and how much my specific campaigns brought into the bottom line.
When I was in non-profit I didn't get a bonus.
DH works in finance. The partners at his firm got over $1million each last year as their bonus. He got nowhere near that but it was still a nice chunk of change for our savings account.

Actually, I should correct all of this and say, its an annual performance bonus, not a Christmas bonus. It just comes at Christmas time.
Sorry If I caused some 
ETA: I wonder if most of the posters are actually talking about their annual performance bonus that they receive each year.. or a bonus in addition to that "just because it's Christmas time"

We don't get a bonus at Christmas. I do get a discretionary bonus after our year-end, which has been approx. 10%.

i work in a private dental practice & our "thanksgiving bonus/gift" is way less than a weeks pay for me. Everyone gets the same amount & for some people its about a weeks pay.
I think its a suck azz system.

With my current job, we don't get a holiday bonus. With other jobs, it was anywhere from $500 to 2K.

It totally depends on your position, industry, and company.
Bonuses at my firm are insane. This year, mine will be almost 1/3 of my annual salary. 
ETA - They're end of year bonuses, not Christmas bonuses at my firm. We never get them before Christmas...
