spinoff to dSLR moms....if you also have a smaller camera, what camera is it?
I was thinking of getting something small that I can literally dangle from my wrist when we go to some places. I am not sure if I even want a small camera because I am afraid that I will always compare those pics to the ones from the SLR. My mom has a new Canon small camera that she is recommending. Some people say to get a cell phone with a good camera. Is that a good option? Should I get a camera from Nikon since I am getting to know the features of my D60? How much should I spend on an "extra" camera? Will I be happy with any of the models after using a DSLR?

My DH just got me the Canon SD780 and I love it. I use my SLR camera around the house, and I bring the Canon when I am going out with the kids. It's so nice not to have to lug around the big camera!! And the pics really come out great!!

I love the Canon Powershot. I had that before I had the DSLR. I don't have another camera now. Only the DSLR. Because I feel I will be disappointed if i don't take a pic with it.

i have a canon powershot also. it's in my bag at all times. are the pictures the same quality as the ones from my slr? no, but they're 1000 times better than no picture at all, which is what i would have if i had to lug my slr everywhere. it's just not practical for me to carry around my slr. if i know i'll want to take pictures i bring my slr, but otherwise i know i can always fall back on my powershot if there's a moment i want to capture. sometimes it's the memories that matter most.

I love my Nikon D40 but when I just want to go light, I use my Canon Powershot SD700 and the quality is beautiful!
