ETA: just reading through responese now... I am shocked that so many say no.
Don't you stay in hotel rooms? Atleast with a sleeping bag, you can wash it before you use it...but hotel linen...who knows!
I just think of an old sleeping bag as a fart capsule.

Yeah, sure. Those suckers can be really expensive.
Just wash it well, and if it still skeeves you, use a sleeping bag liner.
