Spinoff to my unhappy where you live post, where do all you happy people live?

It seems like a bunch of us were unhappy in our hoods. Thought it would be a great idea for those who love their communties to share! Whether it's NYC, LI or NJ! And what you love: child friendliness, affordability, convenience, attractions etc......

moving to Marlboro, NJ in the Fall. Not that I'm unhappy where I live now in Lynbrook.
Just know I'll be really happy there. Much bigger house and property, very close to friends and my family, much cheaper cost of living.

I love where we live, we are close to lots of little stores and the parkways but we are tucked away on a quiet street with tons of kids. We have great neighbors, good schools and still have somewhat of a small town feel.

Middle Village, Queens

I love the neighborhood. Extremely close to a park, and love taking DS there for walks at night. I don't have much of a backyard so that stinks. The commute to the city is not bad either- about 40 mins door to door.

Commack - I'm so close to parks, stores and a mile from the parkway! It makes getting anywhere very easy! Great schools, too!

Miller Place - good school, nice area (almost every house is well taken care of), close to shopping, parks and water.

I live in Middle Village as wellChat Icon and I absolutely love it here! I live two blocks away from a big park, my commute to downtown NYC is 1 hour door to door, we are surrounded by one of the best schools in NYC and lots of shopping, close proximity to major highways and the city. We have great neighbors, there are a lot of children DS's age on our block and we're planning on staying here for a long time.

I grew up in Commack, great town, I loved living there and was Chat Icon when my mom sold my childhood home and moved to Georgia (she is now 15 minutes from me in NC)

I grew up there and love it. I live 5 min away now.....in South Levittown (border of wanatagh). These areas IMO are great. Here we have great schools, tons of parks, young families like us all around, free pools, every store you could imagine is minutes away, I love walking around my neighborhood.

Re: Spinoff to my unhappy where you live post, where do all you happy people live?

I live in Sayville and I honestly don't think I could be happier with my choice.

It's pretty solidly middle class area with a lot of friendly folks. It's very family friendly, with lots of events and activities for all ages - ranging from festivals, feasts, Family Fridays (music and kids shows), Free Yoga, etc.. The Miracle on Main Street Tree lighting and community caroling is great fun and SummerFest and Seafood Fest are good times.

It has a good core - a solid and lovely little main street with shop owners who get to know their clients and which makes shopping locally a priority. I don't need to 'escape' for a fun day - we stroll down Main, stop for an ice - have a slice or go to a nicer restaurant - drop into the Four Star for some knick knacks, play with the nostalgia toys in the Toy Store, Listen to the street musicians who sometimes hang out by Starbucks - or play at La Tavola during Happy Hour.

The schools are great and are well supported by the family and the community as a whole.

We have a beautiful little marina park and no matter where you live you are pretty much walking distance from the Bay and close to the Fire Island Ferries.

It's big enough that not everyone is in your business, but small enough that a stroll through town will undoubtedly lead you to a few friendly conversations and lots of friendly waves and greetings.

I honestly love it here and hope to stay for a long time!
