DW often does......
As soon as I get home, she says "Watch the kids for a while, I need a shower!", then she changes into other clothes after the shower. Does that count?

I dont change before he gets home. On mondays he sits while i work, and he doesnt change for me. If we have plans to go out then of course i will change.
eta: i change into reg. cloths before he leaves for work. I shower at night, so once my dd is in bed for night thats when i shower.

No! There are days he'ss come home & we are all still in pj's. I could care less.

Nope - DH gets comfy the minute he walks in - b.c he is just happy to get out of his suit - so we tend to be very casual at all times when we are home (well unless we have company).

i greet him at the door in a french maid costume
just kidding - i work 3 days a week but other days unless i'm going somewhere where i need to dress up a bit more i have nice sweat/yogas for home running around locally

I'll try to look my best, but sometimes it just doesn't happen. I think we as women should try to a little harder though.....it's good for the relationship.

If I'm having one of those, OMG I never got dressed today days, I absolutely take off the PJs and put clothes on - even if it's sweats, otherwise, no.

I always make sure I am showered and half way pretty when he gets home. I usually comb my hair and sometime will go change so I am more presentable. Usually we go for a walk after dinner, that is part of the reason too. I don't want him schlepping around with someone who looks like they just rolled out of bed. I always want to look pretty for DH.
Edited to add....this may sound bad, but I want DH to still be proud I am his wife. I always tried to look my best back in the day, I just feel why, now that we are married, why should it be any different. HE has seen me at my absolute worst, being sick, and having babies, BUT, I really do make a valliant effort to look my very best for him. I am not talking hair blown out every day, but a shower and some lotion, a little powder, lipgloss, and blush do wonders. If I feel pretty, I feel good about myself. If I am slumming aroung the house all day in sweats or PJ's I tend to be a little depressed. Not only that you never know when you will need to run out or if company will come by. I have two older kids in school. God forbid they need to come home, I would never want to make them wait for me to get myself together. I like to feel good, so I get out of my pj's and get some casuall clothes on.

I keep on what ever I had on for the day when he comes home. As soon as he walks in the door he changes into sweats or shorts.

I def don't change when DH comes home , but I'm not a total wreck either (at least I hope not..)
I do my hair/makeup every day regardless of whether I went out or not so at least that much looks decent
As for clothes, it depends... I'm either back into my sweats or still in whatever I went out with for the day (jeans/tshirt, etc)
But I will admit sometimes DH will come home to me looking exhausted and a wreck if DS has had a particularly rambunctious day/evening

If I felt like I looked a slob that day, yes, I would change--not into something extravagant, just something "decent." Honestly, being a SAHM for me is not a license to let myself go. I think my self-esteem would really be shot if I did, especially since I miss working and getting out into the world looking nice.
And maybe this is backward or whatever, but I DO care what my DH thinks of my appearance and I want to look nice for him.

I am never in my pj's b/c I shower right before DH leaves for the day or if I can't for some reason, I'll shower at their nap time. I only wear comfty clothes and it's never anything exciting...capri's and a tee. Since before we were married, my hair is always up and I never wear make up....never did. I only wear makeup to special occasions like weddings or showers.
I agree with looking pretty = feeling good. The PP made some good points.
I never want to be the type who lets herself go but I was never one to make a fuss over myself anyway. As long as I'm showered and dressed during the week then that's plenty. On weekends I can make up for it.
I must always have my eyebrows waxed....if i don't then I'm miserable and I feel gross.
