Spinoff..Do you consider your DH's nieces/newphews yours as well?

I feel like I am aunt to the babies that were born since we've been married, but it is hard to feel as close to the ones who were around long before I came into the picture...How do you all feel about it?

I consider Dh's niece my niece too.

She was born before we were even engaged, and even then BIL taught her to call me Titi.

They were all born years before DH and I met but I do still consider them my nieces and nephew.

My nephew gave me my screen name when he was three. His mom made him apologize to me about something and that's how he pronounced my name

DH has 7 nieces & newphews to my 1 (and an honorary niece, so 2)...we consider each of them ours.

With the exception of 3, they were all born after we got together so they've grown up calling me their aunt (even before we got married).

I know exactly what you mean. DH's oldest niece (5 1/2 yrs old now) was born shortly after DH and I started dating but I was not close with his family yet so I don't feel quite as close to her.

His second niece though was born 2 months before Jake so I feel much closer to her.

DH doesn't have any- and probably won't for a while. But I know he considers my sister's daughter his niece. Its so cute. He went out and bought Uggs for Jordana and got a pair for my niece too.

There is only one- a nephew- born after we were married and yes, he is also my nephew.

i do. they were all born during the the time of my dating and marrying my dh so i def consider them my nephews.

I do....My DH's nephew was born while DH & I were engaged. The same goes for my DH. My nephew was born 3 months after his & he considers him his too! My BIL taught my husband's nephew to call me KK!!!! So that is all he runs around saying now!!!

Yes, I do. There is only one but she was a few months old when we met.

My 5 were all born way before I even met DH but I still consider them my nieces and nephews. They call me titi.

I consider my BIL's daughter my niece because I know her from birth and she calls me Titi. I don't consider my SILs kids my niece or nephew. I'm not even sure if they call DH uncle.

No because they made sure that their children never called me Aunt Tracy when we were engaged. I remember one time his niece called me Aunt Tracy and they went crazy yelling at her that I was to be call Tracy and nothing else. So I am stubborn and I never call myself their Aunt. Even in birthday cards I write love uncle bob and tracy.

They call me Aunt Christine but I consider them Dh's nieces & nephew.

DH doesnt have any nieces and nephews. I have 2 of each. They all call him Uncle Ed and have been since before we got married. I think he forgets that he is an uncle by marriage as he refers to them as MY nieces and nephews. I have to remind him. He loves them though!

I consider them to be my family now, but I don't usually refer to them as my niece and nephew, since they were 16 and 20 when I first met them, and a few years older when we got married.

My nieces and nephews called DH "uncle" once we were married, but they were all under the age of 10. Before we were married, my one SIL referred to DH as "Uncle X" to my other nephew and he just looked at her deadpan and said, "he's NOT my uncle." He calls him uncle now though

DH has 8 nieces and nephews. I definitely consider them my nieces and nephews also. Especially since I am an only child.

when my two BILs have children I will consider their children my neices and nephews. I am so looking forward to being their aunt , esp. since I am an only child
