Re: SPR-I am little ticked over this...opinions please

I'd be annoyed. Similar things happen in my family. I think I've sort of convinced them that if they touch my camera and there is even the slightest problem with it after that, they have to buy me the new one of my choice. I'll never forget when they found my son's photoshoot on Kiddie Kandids, hit "print screen" and started to show off the very grainy pictures that resulted from that. I had prints that I bought for everyone. I should have just kept them because after all, they got their own prints.

I think you should say to her, "In the future, I need you to leave my camera & the memory card alone unless you've asked me. I was very upset because I had planned on sharing them & using those photos as gifts. They were mine to share. I also had very important photos on that card - photos that I cannot afford to lose. You never know when a memory card get corrupted."

You need to say it now & if you don't talk to her, then either FB her the message or post it on the album (recognizing the latter is more aggressive & could start a fight). Telling her the next time you see her will seem like you hold grudges. Everyone knows I do hold grudges so it's expectedChat Icon

okay... I'm glad it's not just me. When I read your original post, I thought that what would have bothered me the most was her touching your camera without asking, and was worried it was the only child in me! I totally agree with all the points being made here, and agree that while it may be difficult, you should say something. Also, I would NEVER leave my camera unattended again. Who would think you'd need to worry about such a thing?! people are crazy!

I would be super ******.

However, I probably wouldn't say anything publicly. If anything, I'd probably say to SIL that you were planning to gift the grandparents a gift with those pictures nicely so she knows that she ruined your xmas idea.

I just thought of something else... someone can post on your Facebook wall that they can't wait to see *all* the great pictures you took this weekend. Chat Icon Chat Icon

WOW...Chat Icon

I would totally make it public AND tell her what you just said.

That it's completely inappropriate to not only take your camera but take upon herself to remove the card, download the pics AND share with others. Wrong Wrong Wrong! What's next! Go through your purse, get you CC and start making purchases.

Too many boundaries broken here.

1/nobody even take a memory card without asking. What if you had "compromising" pics in it? This is YOUR card/camera and it's personal.

2/ Sharing with others. Again, completely unacceptable. I would totally call her out of it.

3/RUINING the gifts you had planned on giving with the pics.

But most of her... I would tell her to get her OWN camera and only post HER pics.
