Standing in the crib... and not being able to lay back down

Anyone have this problem?
Landon never had a problem with waking and falling back asleep until now, because he stands up and then can't (or won't?) get back down. SO we have to constantly go in his room and lay him back down. How can we stop this?

ETA: He is screaming while he is standing

I think every baby goes through that! It's frustrating as a parent, beucase there's not much you can do! Eventually, he'll learn that if he leans back to sit, he can get back down, but it's something he's got to do on his own. And he will!

It is a stage and will pass (thank god!) but yes, you still need to go in and lay him back down until he learns to do it himself

Do you feel comfortable leaving a stuffed animal or toy in there for him? It might give him some incentive to lay back down to go get it, then fall asleep.

Last night as I put her to bed I was thinking about when she first learned to stand in there and couldn't get back down. It happens to all of them! They do eventually learn Chat Icon

I swear, I think we have all written this same exact post at one time or another Chat Icon

It's so hard because you don't know what to do. I came on here and the girls were right - they said he would figure out how to do it on his own, and I want to say three days later he mastered it! Chat Icon

I think he can get back down but just wont get back down, because he has no problems sitting down from standing in the living room.

Should I ignore him if he does this again?

We have this problem but not in the crib because stupid me takes him out the second he whines. He does it at the coffee table, entertainment center and kitchen chairs. I know he can get down but won't. He whines until I sit him down and he immediately stands right back up. This is what we do all day longChat Icon Chat Icon

If he can get down in the living room he's probably just waiting for you to come and get him in the crib...smart boy...lol.
