Starting to worry...
So, I had another sono yesterday and this little man is measuring 7 lbs. 10 oz. with a 41 week head! I am 37 weeks 2 days today, and they are doing an NST and another sono tomorrow to double check his head size. I have been losing my mucus plug all day today, having some contractions on and off, but nothing consistant. My OB said if I don't go by the middle of next week naturally, he is going to induce...but I am still so worried that I am not going to be able to deliver his head....
Thanks for listening...

Re: Starting to worry...
I have faith....My Mom gave birth to my brother who had one of the biggest heads the doctor had seen in a long time. And she is very petite. A little over 5 ft....They can never exactly pinpoint how big or how much the baby is going to weigh until it is born....

I would also think that if the doctor's thought that it was dangerous or you were not able to deliver b/c of his head size they would do a c-sect. Good luck and try not to stress.

Re: Starting to worry...
please remember it's an estimation.
we all thought Emma would be huge - because of the GD and just because Dave & I are NOT small...
she's almost 2 months and STILL in newborn clothing....she was MUCH smaller than anyone thought she would be!

Re: Starting to worry...
Aren't the growth estimations usually off? (And scare pregnant moms for no reason?) I'm sure all will be well!

Re: Starting to worry...
please try not to worry!!!
those things can be WAY off!! they told me on my due date that DS was "so far over 8 pounds they couldn't measure him". i was induced (for other medical reasons) and he was a WHOPPING....6 pounds 15.8 ounces
all my sonos he was measuring way farther ahead, but he was perfectly sized. they're only an estimate.
i wish you the best!!!

I truly hope this is true. It's not so much the weight of the baby I am concerned with, more just the head size.

Re: Starting to worry...
I'm sure everything is fine. I know the growth sono with DS was off by an entire pound. Good luck!
