the Senate approved a modified version of it.

Re: Stimulus package
its more of the unemployment benefits, and the heating for the poor. I really wish both of these got into the bill.
These are very real problems now and should have been in it. Very disappointed.

but they did other things that I think the original bill did not have such as for veterans and Seniors.
I thought the senates revised bill was and does help the lower income families more.

it helps more with seniors and with Vets which I am very happy for. I just wish it included more.
They were in too much of a rush to keep filibustering it.

What are they using to calculate that - your adjusted gross income or your total before deductions?

I dont necessarily agree with this. There are tons of families on LI that have a combined income much less than that and do quite well. The problem is too many people have been living above their means and it has caught up with them. I think if you make $150+ you should be in excellent shape.

150K isn't really a lot on LI unless maybe you bought your house 6 years ago. We just bought our house this year and I wouldn't say DH and I are in excellent shape, we do well and afford our home but we aren't socking away $$$ in our savings, going away on extravagant vacations or driving fancy cars. It would have been nice if we got a rebate. I think if you compare someone who lives in N. Carolina making 150K to a couple on LI it is going to be a big difference.

That is my question as well. I have not seen the answer in any of the press info.

I used to think like that too, but then I posted a post today to get an idea of couples household incomes and I was surprised to find out a good chunk of us are below the 150K cap. I thought I was in the minority

Agreed. I think the older or more settled in your career you are the more you make. This website has a strong population of 20ish-30-ish I think. So among us on LIF and in your age range possibly you are not in the minority.

Re: Stimulus package
Someone explain something to me, how is LI so much more expensive than, let's say, NYC?
$150K is definitely not 'living in the lap of luxury' but I hardly think a family making that $ or more should be struggling to put food on the table either. I'm not trying to put down anybody's situation, but people need to live up to their means and not above it.
