Stopping Services
My DS was 15 months when he got evaluated for PT because he was not walking. My ped was against it, but I did it anyway. So the lady that did the eval said she was going to score it very "hard" so he would get the services. We two days before the services were to start, he started walking all on his own and has now been practically running. By the time everything went through he was 16 1/2 months old. I have nothing against the provider, but I really do not think he is getting anything out of the PT. He walks fine and basically they just play games when she is here.
So my question is, can I request that the services be stopped?

Re: Stopping Services
EI usually has a 6 month period and is reassessed every 6 months.
If you really feel this is waste, then just call your EI service coordinator. I personally don't like to waste my time, EI's time and waste $$$ that someone else could use.
You could use the PT for other things. Learn to climb stairs up and down, jump, etc...
You are really supposed to work on the initial goals of your IFSP. Not come up with some just to use the PT. Talk to your PT and see what he/she says.
