Sudden rash/eczema flare up?

DD has eczema, but we have been using Aquaphor and hydrocortisone to treat it and she has been fine since she was 2 mos old.

She has patches here and there on her wrists and ankles, but nothing on her face since then.

She is almost 5 mos old.

Out of nowhere this morning when she woke up she had a severe rash on her face. It kinda looks more like baby acne than eczema but is really bad on the same places where she used to get bad eczema (around her ears, her neck, around her mouth and lips). It is red and pimply looking.

Is this an eczema flare-up? Can it happen so quickly overnight or is it some other rash?

Should I bring her to the ped?

She is happy and acting normal but looks awful.

Re: Sudden rash/eczema flare up?

Bring her in (why not?)

But yes overnight hello how ya doing flare ups? Totally happens in this house.

As do middle of the day miss me much bright red explosions that disappear by the time I pick her up.

I've had Daycare tell me they were literally scared she was having an allergic reaction to something, had isolated her and were about to call me when it sorta vanished.

Even without flare ups, I lotion her down every single day with Eczema Cream.

Thanks!

I'm going to see how it is tomorrow morning and if it is still bad, I will take her in.

Exactly, it was THAT bad!

And it has never happened before so I was nervous.

I just wanted to make sure it was not unusual.
