What would I prefer? The Caribbean. Would I go with a toddler or an infant? No. This is my own mishigas (Yiddish for bullsh!t), but I wouldn't take my young children to another country until they are immunized the way I want them to be. What others is fine for them, but not for me. I am actually happy with a Lake George type of vacation and since Abby is not old enough to appreciate an exotic Caribbean vacation, i see no burning need to take her there.

If it was just me and DH, than Carribean, hands down. Traveling with a toddler is hard no matter where you go, so if its a family vaca, I'd do lake George. We are saving the good Carribean family vacations for when the kids are a little older and can go to the kids clubs and participate in activities that many of the resorts have for kids.

I love to travel and i have just come to accept that vacations need to be extremely kid friendly right now or it is more stress than its worth.

There will be very little relaxing on the beach with a cold beer on the beaches of the carribean when you need to be watching a toddler every moment. Keep it simple now and plan for the more tropical vacations when the kids are older.

I still laugh at last week's episode of Modern Family where the mom with the three kids (who were tweens even!) said "I'm a mom on a family vacation, this is a business trip, not a vacation!"
