SuperBowl Food

I know there were threads on this already, but I am kind of sick of the same old things I usually make and as I am looking at the circulars, I was wondering what else I could make. Any suggestions? What are you making? What ideas do you have beyond what you are serving?

Re: SuperBowl Food

recently had an awesome dip if you like a loaded baked potato.

block of cream cheese, 8 oz of sour cream, shredded cheddar and bacon bits (can get exact amounts if you are interested) and chives if you like that.

Mix together and bake at 450 until bubbly. Eat with Potato Chips.

We used the leftover dip and put it on our baked potatoes. TO DIE FOR!

we are usually about 10 people plus all the kids/babies that keep multiplying... but sometimes more than that!

Skins:

potates
cheddar cheese
bacon
EVOO
garlic powder
salt
pepper
sourcream
green onions, chopped

1- clean and bake potatoes.
2- in the meantime, make the bacon however you prefer and crumble it, put in bowl and put aside
3- when they cool enough to handle, cut in half and scoop out a good amount.. leave enough that is sturdy and you still get some potato in each bite
4 - Place them cute side up on baking sheet, Brush each inside with EVOO, sprinkle with garlic powder, salt and pepper.
5 - Bake the skins again until golden brown and crunchy.

I usually do those steps early and leave the skins on the counter until its almost time to eat them, then:

6 - sprinkle cheddar, bacon and chives on them (as much as desired).
7 - pop them back in the oven until they are hot and cheese melts.
8 - serve with sour cream!

YUMMMM!!!!!

Re: SuperBowl Food

you can use my dessert idea from last year. i made homemade hostess cupcakes (chocolate with that yummy filling and chocolate ganache topping) and then instead of the little tilde-like white frosting design the patented cupcakes have, I drew on little white footballs. Between the white filling/frosting, the brown chocolate cupcakes and topping and the actual football design they kind of looked like footballs.

I don't have a picture of how they turned out, or a link for the recipe at this moment but I am 99% sure I got it from my favorite blog: Annie's Eats.... so if you look through her cupcakes, you are bound to find them. All you have to change is the frosting design.

Re: SuperBowl Food

Anytime we go to a party we bring stromboli...

Use a can of croissant rolls and press together to make one solid sheet. Layer slices of salami or pepperoni and provolone..and roll up and bake, slice..easy! It's a crowd pleaser.
