Re: Talk me off the ledge
You did such a good thing!! But I totally understand why you're feeling emotional and upset! When I was in high school....my friend and I were walking and we found a bird that was hurt on the ground. I picked it up with some napkins we had and we brought it back to her house. She went inside to look for a shoebox to put it in so we could bring it somewhere...and while I was sitting on her front steps, it just started convulsing in my hand and then it just died. While I was holding it. I was a mess - crying hysterically.... It's a loss of life....and it's sad. But you helped that rabbit and showed it mercy when it was in a great deal of pain. I'm sorry!

Re: Talk me off the ledge
obviously I agree with all pp. I had a pet rabbit that died of natural causes and I nearly had a nervous breakdown.
thank you for helping that poor bun. He's running free now

Yes I completely understand your distress. The other day we were driving in our car with our two children and the car in front of us hit a deer. The deer was visibly in pain. In all of my years of life I have never seen this happen and I was distraught as well.
