talk to me about stair gates.
so now that dc is starting to get a little mobile, I need to get gates for my stairs. one stairway, need gate for top and bottom. there are too many options. can you recommend yours? what is the difference? its not going in a doorway. i want EASY to install/use. I also havea 2 yo and4 yo that will get MAD if they cant get up and down, so not sure how i'm going ot manage this.

Re: talk to me about stair gates.
We have a munchkin gate at the top of our steps. Very easy to use.

We got the First Years presurized gate with extension and it works well at the top of the stairs. Best thing are no hands needed to use gate, no nail holes and just $55 with the extension on amazon!

Just an FYI---You really shouldn't use pressure mounted gates at the top of the stairs. It can move and the child can fall down the stairs.. It says it on the link you posted.. Always use a gate that is screwed into the wall at the top of the stairs..

Interesting that you post this: I am just about to convert my pressure mounted to a screw mounted for this very reason. I'm also looking for a baby-proofing service to invent something for the bottom of my stairs.... it's an unusual area, where nothing quite fits.

Re: talk to me about stair gates.
I have a high ranch & am constantly up and down my steps. It took me 3 gates to find one that worked great and was easy to operate.
But I found it!
Kidco safeway gate.$49
I also ordered their kit, so I didnt have to drill into my banisters.
I ordered from diapers.com and had it in 2 days.

Re: talk to me about stair gates.
We have a split and we have the munchkin swing gates that mount into the wall. These gates will be up for quite a while, so we were fine with screwing them into the wall.
