Talk to me about your third row SUVs or your minivans

What SUV/Minivan do you have with third row seating and are you happy with it?

Also, do you still have decent truck space? Right now we have a Jeep Cherokee and there is hardly any extra room at all between the two carseats and the double stroller in the back.

Our lease is up soon and I want to start researching bigger trucks or will maybe have to give in and get a minivan.

ETA: I also want a third row that is easy to get to. I don't take the carseats in/out so there would have to be easy access to the back.

I have a suburban. Third row, full trunk. I have 3 kids and take alot of cheerleading/baseball road trips. I love it. Also, I always feels safe. Down side, gas.

Toyota Sienna.

I've been a Toyota owner for most of 20 years now.
The only time I owned a non-Toyota car I got a nightmare of a lemon (and it was luxury )
More room than most SUV's, Toyota hasn't failed me yet (even with a commute and in the worst of weather... the car has always started and I've never been stranded, blow-out tires, etc,), and the only real comparable at the time, Honda Odyssey, couldn't match the deal Toyota was offering us.

We just aren't SUV people... not only the extra $$$ on gas, it's the extra environmental impact from the gas due to our commutes... we didn't want that.

ETA: You can use the third row, store the double stroller and still do grocery shopping.

Love, Love, Love my Buick Enclave.... (2 other ladies here are also owners and can join me in saying they love it!)

Captains Chairs in second row (a must in any vehicle with 3rd row if you want access to 3rd row without having to move carseats). Full 3rd row seating. Very spacious. Easy to get to 3rd row.

The Enclave is on the same platform as the Saturn Outlook, GMC Acadia and the Chevy Traverse. In the same category is the Mazda CX-9.

LOVE our Toyota Sequoia - extraordinarily roomy, even with the third row up, though it can be a bit of a boat to drive and get used to, but I always feel the safest in that car.

We just bought a Mazda CX9, which also has a third row - love the car, but the third row is a joke, and not easily accessible. We don't use the third row at all...

we have the honda odyssey - LOVE it!!!

SO many cool safety features and really drives like a luxury car.

3rd row works great, we use it all the time cause we have a big extended family and 2 carseats in the second row...

we test drove the toyota sienna too and liked it, but we're just honda people... we really like how they drive.

I figured that captains seats are the way to go with the second row. Stupid question, those are just as safe as any other seat for the carseats right?

Our next car will be a Honda Odyssey.

As a matter of fact..I would bet money that right now while my car is getting an oil change, Rich and Lucas are sitting in an Odyssey. Lucas tells me they do this EVERY time they go to the dealer

I love our Odyssey too. I agree with what was said. The trunk space is fantastic. Once the 3rd row is up the trunk is very deep and can hold alot.

We are honda people too..

I have the Nissan Quest and I love it. When we drove to Disney I was able to get to the third row of the car without stopping.

I also love the trunk. The trunk is sunk down and provides for lots of extra space.

LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!!

We needed a third row to put all of Alexas crap and have enough room in th trunk to put both our dogs. All the cards with 3rd row seats we saw had NO TRUNK SPACE.....

THe car is AMAZING... Handles like a dream especially in crappy weather. Its AWD and the safety ratings are impecable

Acura MDX and couldn't be happier! With the 3rd row up, the trunk space is limited, but it's enough to fit a full size stroller on it's side.

last year we bought a Jeep Commander (which I loved) because of the 3rd row. We knew we were going to have another baby and we wanted the extra room. HA! The 3rd row was useless in that thing. It was so close to the back of the car that it was dangerous and you actually couldnt be older than 8 to fit back there comfortably. Also, with two carseats in the 2nd row, you would have to climb over the 2nd row to get out of the 3rd row. It just wasn't practical at all.

In September we traded in our Jeep for Honda Odyssey. Best decision we have ever made. There is absolutely no car stress now. I used to dread getting the kids in and out of the Jeep and trying to pack everything in. The features are awesome and its just so safe. Im not even a little bit embarrassed about having a minivan, I get a ton of compliments on it.

havea cx9 and now have to get another car becuase the 3rd row is a joke to access. wish they had captain chairs. looking to get an acardia which is what i wanted 2 years ago but couldnt find a good lease deal . now they have great deals. waiting till the spring since 3dc isnt due till july.
