Re: Target Missoni line
I ended up going into my local target this morning and some woman had buyers remorse. She said she purchased over $2000 worth of Missoni and wanted to return some things. I got a cute skirt for DD. I am glad that I got to see the plates, vase and server in person - I did not purchase them. I really wanted the throw pillows but they were sold out.

Re: Target Missoni line
$2000? Wow. I would just buy a regular Missoni outfit already.
I keep hearing people who ordered on line are having their orders cancelled. I ordered 2 tops - hoping they actually ship!

By the look of the bag she had on and the outfit her friend had on I think the $2000 was a drop in the bucket for them. She had on a Hermes Birken bag.
But yeah I agree it was insane....

Because of this thread I just went and looked online... and I really disliked most of what is sold out and the things I do like are still in stock...

I kinda wanted the chevron flats, but oh well! I am not interested in fighting people for them. I don't want them that bad! LOL

I know someone that works at the Medford Target and she said it's INSANE. The whole line is sold out at that store...everything!

do not see the hype about this line what so ever- to me it's a sort of spin off of coogi but I like the austin powers comment.

Re: Target Missoni line
I looked at it online. I don't get it.
But if the line usually sells hundreds if not thousands of dollars, I can see why people who do like the designs would want to snatch up everything in the store/online.

I was in Farmingdale and overheard a salesperson said their stock was completely sold out and that was at 630 on Tues night

I like Missoni stuff.
I am not a label whoree kinda gal but if something is really for the Target line then eventhough it is Missoni isn't it like not really high end? I mean everyone will know you bought the Target one so essentially it is like buying anything else from Target..just sayin lol
ITA. I feel like- you're not buying Missoni... you're buying Missoni FOR TARGET. Essentially, just Target clothes.

I have never touched real missoni clothing but the skirt I purchased for DD is one of the softest cotton I have ever felt. I am sure that their standards were different for this collection from their normal collection but it is MUCH higher than the normal target collection. It honestly feels like cashmere and not cotton.

Re: Target Missoni line
Missoni high end is finer yet heavier if that makes sense, more silk in some Target for Missoni is close and an excellent value. The hoodie is the closest it gets. My inbox is packed with requests from friends asking for me to get them items from the line and ship overseas . I am not understanding the whole eBay issue. Why would someone pay up to 5times the price for the Missoni for Target line when at that range you could get the high end item ?! I spent a lot Tuesday morning but also purchased a lot so not as much guilt. As for the bike it is cute but I'm hearing a rumor that someone already got theirs stolen. Locks are not always 100% I guess

Re: Target Missoni line
I don't really get the hype-- to me, Missoni pieces look like the sort of thing you wear to stand out a bit... like a "statement piece", kwim? So isn't it going to start looking a little ridiculous when EVERY.SINGLE.WOMAN on Long Island, NYC, etc is wearing zig-zag clothing this fall? Talk about diluting the intended effect!

"every single woman" ???? What a contradiction to the 2 threads where most posters say they do not like Missoni So in that case alone "every single woman" will not be wearing it

Re: Target Missoni line
And also I'm sure Missoni intended to sell all of the items , that is usually what the seller wants Hence not diluting , but the "intended effect" is to sell when your a seller!

I'm sure many people don't like Missoni. It's kind of a love-it-or-hate-it look. I think the stuff is pretty cute myself, though I have no real plans to buy any. However, for store after store to be completely sold out, for the majority of the online inventory to be sold out as well, for demand to be great enough that an active resale market already exists on Ebay--- these facts suggest that Missoni for Target pieces are going to be very, very commonplace this fall/winter.
All I'm saying is, part of the appeal of these pieces seem to be their somewhat unique, eye-catching look. I rarely see people wearing real Missoni (most likely because of the price tag!), so in the past I would really notice if I did see someone wearing that signature pattern. Items like these lose a bit of their appeal when lots and lots of people have them.

Re: Target Missoni line
Yes definitely a love or hate it pattern IF anyone is interested I left the Bay Shore Target an hour ago to return the heels (too big, size 8) and there were duvet sets, candles, children's boots and very very few clothes left. Near the front entrance all on table

Re: Target Missoni line
I finally got onto the website to look and I'm confused. Does their high-end stuff have the same awful prints, or did they do that especially for Target?
