Tell me im not a horrible mother
So my 3 month old DD had crust around her ear and her eye. I thought she had pink eye. So DH took her to the DR yesterday and it turns out her ear drum ruptured I had not clue she was even sick. She never had a fever or cried alot. She was still so happy. How could I miss this???? I guess they said she was congested and then it gave her an ear infection which caused her ear drum to rupture I am so upset about this. DD is totally fine...she is on antibiotics and is still happy as ever...lol

You are NOT a horrible mother! If there are no symptoms how could you possibly know anything is wrong? All that matters is your DD is now getting the treatment she needs and that she is happy as ever! It's hard when they're so young and unable to tell us when something's wrong.

i learned that this is a sign of ear infections in DS the hard way! he started getting crust and tearing..at our 9mo visit we asked the dr. and she didnt think allergies. Prior, that week DS wouldnt let you touch his right side of his face..we thought it was just him being silly b/c would just flick his head or turn. Turns out he had a WHOPPING infection...hence the eye crud.
I felt like a moron..but he showed no other signs of pain, fever, etc.
this is how we learn!! and she'll be better in no time.

don't feel bad - i never can tell when my son has an ear infection and he gets serious ones too - he still sleeps through the night - pink eye seems to be the only symtom he ever gets
