Thank you cards for Christmas gifts?
Am I supposed to send a thank you card for Christmas gifts that people get AnnaMaria?
Usually there is an exchange of gifts, so this isn't necessary. However, I am sure that people are going to get her gifts, that I don't normally exchange with -- so should I send them a thank you card? For example, my MIL's friends or coworkers.
I still have to do my baptism thank yous, I made a promise to myself to not start them until after Christmas so that I don't get overwhelmed -- her baptism was November 28th.

Re: Thank you cards for Christmas gifts?
I usually do not. We get our gifts from the person and thank them upon getting them

I'm not. I've never seen that done. I guess you could slip an extra sentence into any Baptism thank yous that happen to overlap.

Re: Thank you cards for Christmas gifts?
No, I do not. I write thank you cards for people only if I throw a party for DS(b-day, baptism, etc) & thank them for attending & for the gift.

Only if it's from someone you aren't going to see - to acknowledge receipt of the gift.

ITA...also IMO I think a phone call would be fine in this instance as well.

Re: Thank you cards for Christmas gifts?
I have a lot of free time and made a bunch one night with josh. I sent them to my mother's house for her to give out on the eve and the day since we won't be there.
the cards came out cute.
i traced jessie's hand and made a christmas tree out of her handprint then on the back of card, i traced josh's foot...that was rudolph's face...josh's hands were antlers.

Re: Thank you cards for Christmas gifts?
I think thank you cards are always required - regardless of the holiday. It's polite and shows that you really appreciate their thinking of you (or DC in this case).
I'm very old school in the sense that I can't stand how everything's so impersonal and/or electronic these days.

Re: Thank you cards for Christmas gifts?
If its someone I wouldn't normally have a convo with like your MIL's coworkers then yes I would send a thank you. Everyone else I would thank on the spot

Re: Thank you cards for Christmas gifts?
I've been thinking about this too. DS gets gifts from people I wouldn't expect. He's gotten 2 in the past week that were complete surprises. I think I may get some TY cards for people who we aren't as close to yet were thoughtful enough to get my DS a gift.

Re: Thank you cards for Christmas gifts?
I send a thank you for any gift that wasn't given in person. I think people like to know that you rec'd it and that you liked/appreciated it. I have no idea what the actual etiquette is though, I'm bad with rules of etiquette
