Re: Thank you cards for Christmas gifts?
I was going to post this same question!! I'm struggling with the fact that some of my childless friends who I never exchanged with bought gifts for DD. I feel so guilty and wonder if I should send them a TY. I decided on a casual email/FB message acknowledging the gift and thanking them. I also try to send a picture of Mabel playing with/wearing the gift in a text...

Re: Thank you cards for Christmas gifts?
Wow...I never even thought of this. Not once. Is that bad? LOL. I think I will just get around to making a phone call if I don't get to see them face to face.

Re: Thank you cards for Christmas gifts?
I am the person who writes thank you cards for EVERYTHING! but I never do for xmas gifts.
What I did last year was I sent a quick email to everyone who sent her a present that I wasnt able to thank in person.

Re: Thank you cards for Christmas gifts?
Not for Christmas gifts. Honestly I never heard of such a thing until I read it on this board.

Re: Thank you cards for Christmas gifts?
If you don't give them a gift in exchange, then I would send a TY note.

Re: Thank you cards for Christmas gifts?
I started when my daughter was born but always called and thanked whomever if we weren't in NY for the holiday. I was woken to this custom once I moved to GA.

Re: Thank you cards for Christmas gifts?
I'm baffled that people don't write thank you's...
Even as a child, the DAY after Christmas my mom would tell me to sit down and write my thank yous.
Is it really that big of a deal to write a few notes to people?? For all of the million extra things that we all do and talk about on here all the time, I think a simple thank you note is the least we can do.
JMHO.
ETA: Many people have been talking about tipping people extra around the holidays...so you will tip your mailman, hairdresser, manicurist, etc...but not write a thank you to friends and relatives? think about it...
