if Fios was offered in Brookhaven Town then we would most definitely switch. We have nothing but problems with Cablevision....they are constantly screwing up our bill and thier customer service su*cks big time

I checked and FIOS is available in my area, but I'm undecided if I will switch.
I will probably wait it out a little while and see if it comes back before I think about switching.
ETS: We've never had a problem with Cablevision and we've been with them over 5 yrs.
Edited again to say...actually FIOS cable isn't available to us. They offer DirectTV with their internet and phone package.
This suxs!

We've been wanting to switch the Fios for quite a while now, but its not in our area yet. So we have to suck it up for now. As soon as it becomes available we are switching.
Dh is a chef and we love watching Food Network. If we only watched one show it would be a different story, but we usually keep (or I guess I should say KEPT) it on in our house all day long.

I'll never switch to FIOS since they don't have MSG in HD. I'll gladly stay with CV.
HGTV and FOOD will eventually be back with CV so i'm not really worried.

I'll give them a short while to work it out but then it's FIOS here we come. We stayed with cablevision for News 12, but as far as we're concerned, HGTV and Food Network trump News 12 any day.

I'll stick with Cablevision. We've never had a problem with them, and from what I'm reading, this whole issue is not really their fault, so I'm not going to blame them.
And, with a 2 year old in the house, it's not like we can actually watch anything other than Nick Jr. anyway.....

I live in a co-op , so satellite is not an option. We are wired for Fios, but they put the jack in a weird place & not where they said they would & I am hesitant becuse of their contracts, but if this issue with Scripps, is a long term one, I might switch--more for the Food Network, than HGTV.

The ONLY reasons why we will stay with Cablevision are the following:
#1- I have a feeling that they will get Food Network and HGTV back eventually.
#2- DH JUST hammered out a pretty good deal with Cablevision for the year, so we don't want to give that up.
If it weren't for those two things, I'd say bye-bye to Cablevision in a heartbeat!

FIOS also gets the other LI news - Channel 10 / 55. DH watches that news every night.

I'm not sure. If I can get a good deal from FIOS, I might consider switching, but the thing is, who's to say it's not going to happen to FIOS when their contract is up? This is a common issue, and I highly doubt that Scripps is going to completely ditch CV because I'm sure they'd lose way too much money. They're just being b@stards and trying to play hardball. So I'll see.

FIOS 1 sucks...prehaps in 5 years, it will be something
News12 isn't that great either but at least you get to see whats going in the island.
BTW, you can watch NEWS12 feed direct from News12 site so you really don't have to miss anything.
MSG HD is missing but there is nothing worth watching on there anyway. The reason for no MSGHD is the same reason why Food Network HGTV is not on CV... $$$$ and because of that, CV can say we have 1 up on FIOS..

I had the worst experience with Fios when i was with them so it would take a LOT to get me to switch to them again. If I thought for one moment that this same bs could never happen with Fios, I would consider switching back to them.

Partly true. MSG HD can be seen on Direct TV and other cable providers. You can get it but it will cost ya just like anything else.
I mentioned before, CV likes to have a "1-Up" on other companies and they love to use it as its there slogan.
Yes, CV is the parent company of MSG.
