Re: The Captain's Straight-Shooter of the Week Award
Posted by Moehick What do you mean by hypocritical? In using that phrase you must mean you think the Captain is lovey dopey but the rest of your post does not support this theory...bad opening line
I said this post is hypocritical because he's asking for people to be honest and controversial yet at times when people do that, they get flamed for doing this on this site. And he posted that he doesn't like people that are lovey but I guess that's just his opinion just like I posted mine before.

If you are referring to answering my post, actually you don't have to. No need to "craft" a response. I guess you already posted your feelings and so did I. Granted you can answer if this is what you'd like but I personally do not see the point. Once again, that's just my opinion.

I think every educated and intelligent person loves to have conversations that are debatable because they are more interesting as long as they are done in a constructive and respectable manner as I said before. I don't mind getting "flamed" because I see points of view from the person that is giving them before I even take them into consideration. I just find that sometimes people give their opinions and they get flamed for people with their gang-up mentality(not saying it's necessarily Don) and I personally do not see the benefit of that. Why ask people for their honest opinions if they are going to give this gang-up mentality and sometimes even make fun of them. What's the point? Again, that's just my opinion and I was expressing that.

This is the whole point of Don's post....people should be open and honest and not worry about getting flamed or nervous about being "ganged up on". This thread is in celebration of those that speak their minds....so in fact looks like you and the Captain agree

Not in its entireity. He expressed he despises people who only bring a hug and a prayer to the table....I, on the other hand, don't. I think giving is a wonderful thing regardless of what it is. At times people cannot offer anything else than just a hug or just being there for someone and that might mean a whole lot than anything else in the world to that person at that moment. I doubt that some people would get "nervous" or "worry" about getting "ganged up" but my point why have that in the first place?.........especially if people are expressing how they feel. I personally don't see the point and find it a bit immature. But that's just my opinion and I'm certain not everyone agrees with it, which is fine too.
