YOU must feel really crappy about yourself and you should. Bullying is nasty, Ramming your thoughts on everything and shoving them down everyone's throats is distasteful and not being tolerant at all which true liberals I know are actually tolerant. You are the opposite of that.

So take a good look at yourself before pointing your finger at me for being a *****. Because honey, you are the biggest one here. And I don't even like calling other women that.
....

See this is what I don't understand. Earlier you commented on Hillary and how she was b*tchy, was a b*tch, about her outfit, etc. These are sexism issues and that was said earlier in the thread. Then you say the above. It doesn't make much sense and is contradictory.

You mention the "superpredator" comment and then I have seen in previous threads about racism and comments you have made. There was some earlier thread, I vaguely remember, about Paula Deen and comments you made about the n-word (search function is not working). You seem to be quite contradictory at times.

I just don't understand how you can make comments like these and then say you are concerned with issues such as feminism and racism.

The Paula Deen post I did not say anything- it was my BLACK friend Marc's post that I copied and posted on here. I did not say any of those words. I posted it in shock that my friend Marc would say something like that being black. YOU misconstrued it and said that I said it. A million people even pointed it out.

The guns- YES, I support the 2nd Amendment. I feel there should be SOME control. Like background checks and such. But I feel that law abiding citizens should be able to have firearms.

I truly believe Hillary is a bitchh. I did say that. I don't know her on a personal level but I think she is one. It takes a lot for me to say it. t's like th C word. I hate it but if I truly dislike someone, I say it and that is an extremely rare occasion.

So what don't you get?

ETA: I posted about the 2nd Amendment b/c you mentioned it earlier with views on it / cops / etc.

I don't know why you are getting so defensive, sort of nasty, and yelling in caps.

The guns comment earlier was not clearly written out. The point I was trying to make was sort of off-topic, so I'm not going to go into that right now.

That's all fine and good that your friend wrote that post, but it doesn't really matter. Just because he's black doesn't matter either. "But I'm friends with a black person so I can say that" is a microagression. It's not appropriate. The first part you wrote of the post, so whatever.

You can't go around calling someone a b*tch. It's sexist and you did just admit that you don't know her, so how can you comment? And this is the thing that bugs me. She was being assertive and explaining. I'm sick and tired of people calling females in executive positions b*tchy. There's no place in today's world for that crap. Use another word.

"But we also have to have an organized effort against gangs," Hillary Clinton said in a C-SPAN video clip. "Just as in a previous generation we had an organized effort against the mob. We need to take these people on. They are often connected to big drug cartels, they are not just gangs of kids anymore. They are often the kinds of kids that are called superpredators — no conscience, no empathy. We can talk about why they ended up that way, but first, we have to bring them to heel."

The full context of this incident does link children and superpredators, but nowhere in the speech does she directly label African-American youth this way.

Re: The Debate

With regards to the "super predators" comment, yes, it was a crappy thing to say. I don't like that she said that. It was 20 years ago and she has apologized. She has taken responsibility for her actions. We are all learning about how to better ourselves and not be racist (microagressions, realizing privilege, etc.). I know I am, and I'd be lying if I said I am not learning. It's called progress.

I have NOT seen Trump apologize for anything he has said. I didn't see an apology to the Khan family. And now Miss Universe. He's still calling her fat. I'm fed up with the way he treats people and does not apologize and realize that he has hurt someone. I do not want a President like that. And yes I question his supporters' empathy. The Trump effect is real and I find it disgusting.

I was not defensive at all. I don't know where you are getting that.

I didn't even say that what Marc said was "right" and that it was ok- where do you get that from? I posted it b/c I was shocked, not that I agreed with him. The only thing I agreed with was that the music industry should refrain from allowing the N word which is what he mentioned.

I think you are taking this to a whole new level. I work in a company that empowers women. I get it. But I can't stand when women do things to other people or use people to get far. Those kind of people I do not associate with. I get that the world thrives on that in some cases. Maybe I am little nicer than you think I am.

And your friend called me a b*tch. And I called her out on her BS. The end. It's over. I don't even care anymore. I will continue to post and you can continue to dissect every word I say. I am not even going to explain myself anymore than I already have.

Thanks for sharing the full quote. While I do think it was extreme and wrong for her to call kids superpredators (that term is better for child molesters IMO) I don't think her intentions were bad, and she was correct about the problems posed by gangs.

I began teaching in the South Bronx around this time and what she referred to did exist- there were kids in my school already with important roles in gangs. They were violent and angry and other kids and many adults were scared of them. She was a bit cavalier over how they ended up that way, but it's not an easy problem to solve.

I see your point, but being OK with someone's qualities is very subjective. See, I understand you think she is a liar but she has been cleared of every investigation brought against her. Now, many Republicans interpret this to be further proof that she is a liar and all part of a conspiracy. The Democrats view this as proof of a witch hunt and a mud-slinging exercise. Which side is correct? I don't think there is a clear cut answer, people just take the information they have and take a position. That's fine and we all have that right.

The problem we have on this board is everyone wants to be right and no-one wants to go down without a fight (even if it means being disrespectful and offensive from behind a computer screen).

IMHO, I do no agree with calling anyone the b word that I do not know personally. Clinton, whether you like her or not, has dedicated her life to political causes and, whether you agree with what she has done, it's more than anyone here has ever done for society. For that fact alone, I think she deserves a lot more respect than she is getting from many people.

Now this is a beautiful post!!

And I think your point is so important, and it leads to something else I read recently. We have all created a situation where no one trusts the media anymore and we did this to ourselves. We have created a situation where we just believe absolutely nothing unless it's something we want to hear. I should try to find that article...

Nothing short of Jesus Christ coming down and saying that Clinton is not guilty of the things she's already been found not guilty of will convince those who hate her that it's true. And then you'll have people commenting on the credibilty of Jesus Christ.

Obviously, I'm on the witch hunt side.

I agree with this, although I'll go further and say I loathe the use of the B word in any scenario.

Anyway, this reminds me of an example as to how this works both ways: I will always respect John McCain, a politician who, while moderate on some issues, is still someone I greatly disagree with but is a great war hero, a true patriot, and has had the ability and maturity to reach across the aisle on occasion.

If people could open their minds a little and read about all the work she has done, especially for women and children, I suspect they'd feel differently.

Further, I feel that when people use really nasty language to describe people they are hurting their own credibility and image more than anyone else's - at least in most cases. I find Donald Trump loathsome, ignorant, crass, etc. but is he evil? Meh, I don't know. I doubt it. George Bush sent thousands off to war in Iraq even though the weapons inspectors were begging for a few more weeks and then we lost all those young people for a dubious cause. Is he evil?

Hitler's evil. Pol Pot's evil. Etc. Let's not dilute the word.

The amount of hate and vitriol for this woman says more about the haters than Clinton herself, IMO.

But you are the one who has said that you can't respect her as a WOMAN because of these things. You can't respect or support her because she stayed with her husband who cheated - yet seem to have no issue supporting a man who cheated. That is a double standard and very sexist. It's when you have no problem with a man doing something and then fault a woman for the same thing that I can't understand. Holding a woman to a higher standard than man (which so many are doing with this election) is the sexist attitude that is so upsetting

I do not condone men for doing it, nor do I condone women for doing it- in regards to cheating. I don't think women or men should stay with a cheater, period. I know plenty that have including some family members of mine and it boggles my mind. People forgive. I guess I am a hardass. I just have seen that once a cheater, always a cheater but this is a different topic for a different thread perhaps.

She is just supposed to be a strong woman. I guess she is for the position she is in. But I would think she just wouldn't take her husband's shitt just like she shouldn't take the rest of the world's shitt while being President. That is my opinion. No need to read into it too much.

Bill has been accused of sexual harassment numerous times. Forget the Monica thing - but sexual harassment? When there's smoke, there's fire. So I do judge her for staying with him and clouds my view of her declaring she's a feminist.

I also can't get the "superpredator" crap out of my head.

Signed,

A registered dem who is liberal but not blind to her ******** (or trump's)

That's fair enough. At least you see the reason on why I am baffled she stayed with him.

I know the definition of a feminist. But to take it to another level- a strong woman should hold her ground and not tolerate crap- so therefore Hillary should not be president.

Furthermore, the "ladies" on the other side often ridicule us conservatives on here and take it to another level- quite frankly, it's childish. I refuse to even argue with you guys anymore because you guys act like idiots, plain and simple. At least Eating My Veggies states her opinions eloquently and isn't ridiculing anyone, I respect what she has to say- not you guys.

And someone said she didn't like what I said about the 2nd amendment in the past and thinks I am a racist. Whatever, think whatever. You don't know me. But excuse me for my support for law enforcement and not being blind to the shootings in Chicago which are WAY up there in the thousands.... i understand some cases were wrong.... But now we are going off topic. I'm just done. Vote for whoever, I don't care. The end.

Go away. Like for real, go away and don't ever come back.

You sound like a baby. Seriously. If I ever saw you in person, you wouldn't even have the balls to speak to me the way you do.

Oh yes the bittch of the 2009 brides who no one liked? Sure. I'm scared of you.

But keep using those bully tactics you admire so much in DT Chat Icon

Seriously?? Are you in elementary school? Who's the bully? I barely comment on here but you've reached a new low. And for what it's worth, I was also a 2009 bride. I don't know Mrs. Mick IRL , but I vaguely remember Mrs. Mick's LIW posts by her profile picture on here. She was never full of the drama and nonsense that you are 7 years later.

You need to grow up!

Maybe if you scrolled up, you'd see that I apologized and realized it was immature of me to say.
